Recently in Maycomb there
has been an exceedingly
serious trial that has
convicted a black man of a
rape and violence crime.
Now from the allege
victim’s and the
prosecution’s witness’
testimony it may appeared
to be some false
information about what
exactly happened that day
of the crime. Clearly many
of us can tell that Tom
Robinson had to be an
innocent because the
Ewell’s testimonies
contradicted each others. I
believe the jury even knew
that Tom was innocent but
decided to sentence him
guilty because they knew
they would become an
outcast to the people of
Maycomb. However if the
jury would have set an
innocent man free they
would have saved a
precious life. First and
foremost I would like to
thank my neighbor Atticus
for stepping on the right
foot and doing what he
thought was right for a
Maycomb as a united
community. Despite all the
negative comments people
said about him for taking
this case was that Atticus
set himself apart for regular
Maycomb “folks” by
accepting this case. It was
apparent that the jury
members where in fact
persuaded by Atticus
argument but it wasn’t
enough to set Tom free.
Maycomb really needs to
become beware of the
future of this town if
everyone just continues to
be just regular Maycomb
“folks”. We will never know
the true value of our
community if we are just so
racist and we continue to
blame other people with
crimes that we did
ourselves just to get rid of
one ethnic group.

Atticus is a very intelligent man who
believes in equal rights for all, he took
this case knowing he would become an
outcast and hated by white people but
while doing this he revealed the true
Maycomb. Atticus revealed that
Maycomb are full of lairs, racism,
prejudgers, abusers, and revenge
seekers. It was evident that the whole
trial was based off a lie, Bob Ewell lied
about Tom beating up Mayella when it
was truly him. Mayella lied about being
raped knowing that she forced herself on
Tom and was rejected. Atticus proved
that a disabled man like Tom couldn’t
have done such things with basically
one arm. By the town being so racist,
everyone prejudge Tom just because he
was black,automatically assuming “black
did the crime, he is going to do
overtime.”
After the trail Mr. Ewell aspects to get
something for sending in a dangerous
rapist and abuser instead he was sent
back to his dump to continue living a
miserable life. This to is so sad even for
a person like Bob because he too was
an outcast among his own people. The
way he lives was unacceptable to the
Maycomb ordinary “folks” who think that
they are so high and might that they
can’t accept a man who too lives a life
that he choose to live. I Miss Maudie has
also judged Bob Ewell, his lifestyle, and
criticized the fact that he lied on a black

whole reason Bob Ewell started this
case was to fit in with the rest of
Maycomb instead of being an

where blacks live. He probably didn’t
even what to be an alcoholic but by us
pushing not only him but the whole Ewell
family away made Bob who he was.And

to kill them. Fortunately only Jem’s arm
was broken and Jean’s custom was
crushed. However Bob was stabbed to

Bob’s death he still tried to blame what
he did on Tom Robinson, maybe the
reason for all this is to get rid of the
black population Maycomb. That’s
maybe why he plotted revenge on a
black and a black supporter known as a
“nigger lover”. Also that explains why we
don’t know the true value of Maycomb
because no one takes responsibility for
