shewas14,shecontinuedherpassionforfoodandbeverageatthe
CulinaryInstituteofAmericainHydePark,NewYork.Whilea
student,shecompleteda4-monthcookinginternshipinCaliforniaat
theBernardusLodgeandspentweekendsinterningwiththepastry
teamatJean-GeorgesinNewYorkCitywhereshewentontowork
full-timeasapastrycookandwaspartoftherestaurantteamwhen
theyreceivedtheirfirst,3Michelinstars.
InMiamiAngeloreturnedtothefront-of-the-houseandworkedasaserverforJamesBeardAward
winningchefMichelleBernsteinathernamesakerestaurantmichy’s.Shewaspromotedto
manager,sommelier,andthenwinedirector.Shecreatedanddirectedthewineprogramsat
michy’s,Sra.Martinez,andMBattheOmphoyHotel.Duringthattime,shewasrecognizedby
Wine&SpiritsMagazine’sas“BestNewSommeliers”in2010andwasfortunatetotravel
throughoutthewineregionsofFrance,Spain,andGermany.Afterasix-yearrunwithChef
Bernstein,Allegracontinuedherpassionfor“allthingsliquid”asaconsultant,thenbeverage
directorfor50EggsInc.,whereshediscoveredanaffinityforspiritsandcraftedcocktails.She
createdanddirectedtheoriginalwine,spirit,andbeerprogramsforYardbirdSouthernTable&
Bar,SwineSouthernTable&Bar,KhongRiverHouse,andPatpongRoadLounge.
AllegraiscurrentlythesommelierforAQrestaurantandisthecreatorof“BottlecoatPop-up”in
SanFrancisco.AsaconsultantshecreatedtheoriginalwineprogramforBonMarché(San
Francisco),theoriginalcocktailprogramatRootnBone(NYC),andthewineprogramat
MignonetteOysterBar(Miami).ShehasworkedharvestinBurgundy,Tuscany,andSpainand
holdsaLevelIIIAdvancedSommeliercertificatefromtheCourtofMasterSommeliers,passingthe
