Sculpture Trail Makes for a Sandy Christmas at The Strand For immediate release – 1 December, 2015 The sand at Coolangatta has found its way inside The Strand at Coolangatta for a different kind of entertainment this Christmas. An interactive Christmas Sand Sculpture Trail will be on display throughout December, created by two of Australia’s best sand artists. Current Australian Sand Sculpting Champion, Jino Van Bruinessen, and Peter Papamanolis have been busy creating three Christmas themed sculptures throughout The Strand over the past week, including Santa, his sack of toys and some naughty elves. The Strand Marketing Manager, Sarah Clasen, said the Santa Sand Sculpture Trail was the perfect way to enjoy a true Southern Gold Coast Christmas at The Strand. “You won’t find the traditional red-suited Santa at The Strand this Christmas,” said Ms Clasen. “The Sand Sculpture Trail is a fun and interactive way to capture the spirit of Christmas while showcasing the amazingly talented artists who have created these sand masterpieces.” From today, visitors to The Strand are invited to take part in the fun by following the Sand Sculpture Trail and completing an entry form with the answer to the question on the back of each sculpture. Entry forms are available at all The Strand retailers with any purchase. All entrants will go in the running to win a $2500 Visa Gift Card for Christmas, with 10 family entertainment packs including passes to BCC Cinemas Coolangatta and Timezone also among the prizes. The Santa Sand Sculpture Trail and competition will run from the 1-20 December with the winners drawn on Monday 21 December.
