But when his brothers had gone up to the Feast of
Tabernacles, Jesus himself also went up, not
openly but (as it were) in secret. The Jews were
looking for Him at the feast and saying, “Where is
he?” John 7:10-11
From that day on they planned to kill him. So
Jesus no longer walked about in public among the
Jews, but he left for the region near the desert, to a
town called Ephraim, and there he remained with
his disciples. John 11:53-54
The statues will be covered during Passiontide (the

Some weeks ago, the Diocese’ Annual Catholic
Appeal began with Pledge Sunday. Part of our
Appeal gift helps the Diocese’ Catholic education
efforts. Catholic schools are the greatest hope for
the future of our Church. Donations to the ACA help
to ensure that curriculum and performance
standards and development of educators continue
at high levels within 31 elementary schools and
seven high schools.
Last year reaching out to more than 90,000 alumni
increased that support to these institutions.
Additionally, we partner with the Diocese and our
parish to make corporal works of mercy tangible for
people who are most in need through Diocesan
Parish Counseling Services, the Parish Emergency
Assistance Program, Diocesan Social Service
Workshops, Home Health Nursing Program and
Emergency Assistance.
Take time to share in the presence of Christ in
adoration and honor the Blessed Mother by
participating in the Miraculous Medal Novena, held
on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the church.
Lent is a fitting time for self-denial; we would do
well to ask ourselves what we can give up in order
to help and enrich others by our own poverty.

We can all help the Church by praying for vocations.
We have a Pray for Vocations icon of the Mother of
the Eternal High Priest which parish families can
take home after Sunday Mass, pray for vocations
together every day for a week, and return the icon to
the sacristy for the next family to pray the following
week. The number of priests may continue to
diminish without our help and prayers! Sign roster on
the Sacristy bulletin board. This month, prayers will
be said by the DeGisi, Brandt, and Roe families.

Be angry and do not sin. Meditate within your
heart on your bed and be still. Offer the sacrifices
of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.
Psalm 4:4-5
I am with you to guide you and help you. Unseen
forces are controlling your destiny. Your petty
fears are groundless.
What of a man walking through a glorious glade
who fretted because ahead there lay a river and
he might not be able to cross it, when all the time
that river was spanned by a bridge? And what if
that man had a friend who knew the way—had
planned it—and assured him that at no part of the
journey would any unforeseen contingency arise
and that all was well?
So leave your foolish fears and follow Me, your
Guide, and determinedly refuse to consider the
problems of tomorrow. My message to you is trust
and wait.
