We are pleased to invite you to the Diaspora conference: Building Sustainable Peace
and Prosperity in Ethiopia, the Case for Somali Region and the Role of its Diaspora
Community, the conference is scheduled from 16-17 October, 2010 in Copenhagen.
After extensive consultations with the Ethiopian Somali Communities in the Diaspora,
representatives from the senior leaders of UWSLF and the ONLF, we have concluded
that an historic opportunity exists to advance the prospects for a genuine peace
through out the region and in particular the Somali region in Ethiopia.
The Conference deliberations will be on the following themes:
Attaining sustainable peace and prosperity in Ethiopia
Stumbling blocks to peace and development in the Somali region of Ethiopia
The role of the region's Diaspora communities in attaining peace & development
in the region
The conference will examine the nexus between peace and development, the need for
unity among the stakeholders of the region and the best practices towards achieving
sustainable peace and prosperity in Ethiopia at large and in the Somali region
in particular.
Deliverables will be a set of action plans and written roadmap for a genuine peace and

This year's conference on Building Sustainable Peace and Prosperity in Ethiopia, the Case
for Somali Region and the Role of its Diaspora brings together members of the Ehtiopian
Somali Diaspora , representatives from the Ethiopian federal government and the Somali
regional state, elders from the Somali regional state, academics and women's
organization.
