Project Introduction
Montreal, Canada, one of the most populated cities in North America, began the
major Montréal Pneumatic Material 2010 (MPM-10) project in 2006. A major upgrade
to the Montreal Metro, MPM-10 subway trains will enter service in 2014. A total of
52 new trains and 468 new cars will be added. In order to enhance the security and
safety of the trains, each train was to be equipped with both front-facing and rearfacing IP cameras.

System Description
The Montreal Metro’s system integrator deployed Moxa’s EN 50155 compliant VPort 16-M12 IP camera as the rear-facing camera for
MPM-10 trains. The VPort 16-M12’s built-in CCD sensor provides good image quality in low illumination environments, and the metal
housing and glass lens cover are both fire and corrosion resistant. In addition, Moxa’s innovative CBR Pro™ function provides accurate
bit rate control to minimize packet loss, ensuring consistent image quality even when bandwidth is limited.
