Get a smokers section.
Classrooms too cold; progressively colder through the day; temp control in room not responsive
Classrooms - it is way too cold. They say they can't lower the temp because the chiller plant, but
every college I go to seems to be super cold - other students agree.
The campus is not very comfortable. There needs to be more lounge and study spaces, as well as
better classroom set ups.
The classrooms are too compact for the amount of students filling them.
Repave the parking lots, some areas are filled with gravel and I have tripped while trying to get
into my car.
Some classrooms are too small and claustrophobic. The campus needs better lighting at night.
The classrooms are great-I have just had issues with come classrooms or side of the class where
the whole section of outlets were off or didn't work...
All classroom desks should have plugs.... My current computer class (B221) does not and access
to in-the-wall plugs are difficult.
I would like to see more computer cord outlets in the classrooms. Some classrooms do not have
a sufficient amount now that students are required to bring their laptops to courses.
The 2nd 'south' entre/exit to the parking lot has blind corners.
The campus is clean and accessible to any needs that I may have, and I have never had an issue
of finding a place to study.
The courtyard brings a peaceful relaxation and even rejuvenation in-between classes/work. I
think that the beauty of the courtyard and the pergolas outside of Jonathan's cafe are one of the
highlights of USFSM that I hope will be preserved for years to come.

I do wish there were more independent study areas on campus.

Classrooms are a little cold.
I love the USFSM campus; it is so beautiful!
Classrooms should all have windows
Every classroom should have electrical outlets for plugging in laptop computers.
The maintenance and custodial crew at USF-SM consistently keep both the inside and
outside of the campus clean and well-kept. They are also very trustworthy with lost and
found items, helping students, etc.
Some classrooms are too small for the amount of students and feel claustrophobic. The
parking lot is poorly lit at night, it can feel unsafe.
Campus safety is only bad because I live close to campus. During the day it is awesome,
but at night I walk my dog on the campus and do not feel safe at all. I'm not sure about
rules but if the campus is shifting to a traditional university, we will need some sort of
overnight security.
We really need more lights at night coming out of the North Port campus. It is very dark
and there are some tall bushes, it is not comfortable
There needs to be more facilities for just students.
Sometimes the classrooms can be a little too small for the sizes of the class, i.e. 25
students enrolled but only 20 physical seats within the classroom. I also feel like the
student activities for this year (2013-14) have been rather moot and far and few
between.
The smoking ban, I feel, was extremely unnecessary. There are many students (including
nonsmokers) who frankly think it was a ridiculous policy. I still think it is ridiculous and
unfair.
Even though the campus is small, it is laid out for ease of access. I feel very safe when I
am in the parking lots late at night.

I feel each classroom should be equipped with safety and janitorial services call buttons,
much like the call buttons that are in place for technology help. I spilled an entire drink
in front of the whole class and I was unable to find the resources to have the spill
cleaned up properly.
There is a lack of truly quiet study space on campus. The 2nd floor of the rotunda is loud
with the activities of the entrance. The Quiet Study Room is not quiet, the door opening
and closing is distracting and there are offices inside that are accessed. A quiet area,
with quiet doors and no through traffic is needed.
I find issue with all the classes being taught in one building.


The campus needs to feel more student friendly and there needs to be more parking
and more comfortable chairs in classrooms.
Classrooms should have power plugs on all the desks/tables.

The classrooms are usually dirty. Debris on floors is rarely swept up. The second floor
(A) ladies room always stinks due to poor ventilation. I have often been the first one in
the ladies room early in the morning. The trash is empty and the toilet seats are up, but
the sinks, toilet bowls and floor are dirty. In several classrooms the desktops need to be
cleaned and sanitized. Many of the seat cushions on the chairs are matted down,
making seating for long periods uncomfortable. The chairs need to be replaced or recushioned, periodically.
I really enjoyed eating my lunch outside of Jonathan's Cafe during my two and a half
hour break between classes.
I really enjoyed sitting outside by the fountains and thinking how lucky I was to be on
such a beautiful, safe, intimate campus close to my home!
I am unemployed right now and decided to study outside one morning at the campus.
The atmosphere near the water fountains/pool area (where the Bull statue is) was so
peaceful. The white noise that the fountains provided, really enhanced the quiet study
time.
I am happy that we now have a quiet area in the school.
Additional parking on the north side of the campus would be ideal.
Please have more study areas available for group study and independent study.
I wish there were larger, or more noticeable, floor numbers within the stairwells. In
getting accustomed to this campus, I've had difficulty navigating which floor I am on
because they all look the same within the stairwell.
There needs to be more parking. Our campus and population is growing.
Very strange how often professors move around the tables and chairs in the classrooms.
each class I go into, there is always a different arrangement which can get annoying.

There are too few parking spaces for visitors.
A larger visitor parking area would be a plus.
Construction in the back parking lot has reduced the number of parking spaces.
Construction on the north side of the campus is taking up too many parking spaces.
For the amount we pay for parking I often still end up circling to find a parking space.
There is very little lighting in the back parking lot during the evening.

Lighting in the parking lots is sporadic. Sometimes they are on and other times they are
off. This has been a safety issue since the campus opened and need to be corrected.
The building is way too cold. What a waste of electricity.
I think the classrooms are too cold. It would be helpful to ask about temperature
preference in future surveys.
The restrooms are super clean.
It is a beautiful campus.
Facilities does a great job. In particular, Geoff Copeland is a great resource for the
University.
I love the study areas and access to outlets for laptops.
As far as the socializing goes, most students just leave right after class. If there was
something or somewhere like a real library room or a quiet, sound-proof study area I
think more people would stick around. The 2nd floor atrium where students usually
study is too loud.
It would really help North Port if they hung some things on the walls. It is too white in
the classrooms with the white walls and the white boards and the cork boards on the
BACK walls do not help.
North Port needs a study room for groups. It gets too loud in the hallways where the
computers are to work in a group.
