the advertisement forms
served by the

I. GENERAL ASSUMPTIONS.
Preparing the creative:
1.We require sending a complete set of creatives at a time for the whole campaign
period, minimum 3 workdays before its beginning. Otherwise, we do not guarantee
punctual verification of the materials.
2.Creatives must have detailed, assumed size and weights no bigger than the ones
provided in the table, referring to particular advertisement forms (point III). These weights
may be exceeded, when it is clearly defined by the campaign’s assumptions. However, in
no case may the weights exceed the top limit for a single creative settled as 40 kB.
If the creative is not included in the AdOcean specification, but it is admitted to serve on
the particular pages, we should follow the data concerning the most similar creative from
the AdOcean specification.
3.Creatives .swf prepared for the AdOcean should have arranged supplementary
creatives .gif or .jpg. Supplementary creatives are not required for the forms: toplayer,
brandmark, poltergeist, and for the form of expand type the supplementary creative
should have the sizes of “undeveloped” state.
4.With the complete set of creatives should be delivered a hexadecimal colour of the
background for the .swf creative. We omit this point, if the background is white
(#FFFFFF). This requirement may be neglected, also in the case, when the creative is
the layer form, (that is, without the html background, e.g. brandmark, toplayer). AdOcean
does not bear responsibility for the changes in the creative’s appearance resulting from
the negligence of the requirements included in this point.
5. With the complete set of creatives has to be delivered an active url/urle, to which the
creatives must be referred, and the serving codes, with the use of which the
advertisement is to be served. The destination address cannot be longer than 200 signs.
6. The advertisement can overload the processor of the standard computer at most
in 25%. As the standard is assumed a computer with Intel Celeron 1,7 GHz or AMD
Duron 1,7 GHz processor with the installed Flash Player v. 8;
7.Creatives .swf cannot be in version higher than 8.
8.For creatives that contain transparent areas it is not permitted to cover them by invisible
clickable buttons – only parts of the creative that are visible to the user may redirect,
upon clicking, to the advertiser’s website.
9.It is forbidden to establish creatives recruiting additional elements or referring to the
external files (e.g.: streaming in the .swf creatives). The exception are the creatives,
which assume this kind of action.
10.It is forbidden to use the scripts changing the browser window (size, position). The
exception are the creatives, which assume actions of this type.
11.It is forbidden to use the scripts observing the user’s interaction (e-tuning).
12.Creatives or serving codes causing the occurrence of errors or warnings during the
advertisement’s serving will not be accepted.
13.AdOcean does not engage in the preparation of serving codes for
advertisements. With the set of materials we kindly request to send us the codes, from
which the creatives will be served.
14.Creatives swf may have any size, taking the maximum admissible creative sizes
dedicated to the websites under consideration.
15.If in the campaign the use of multiclickTags is required (more than 1 clickTag) we
request to stitch respectively: _root.clickTag1 for 1 url address_root.clickTag2 for 2 url
address etc. We request to pay special attention to the size of the letters.
16.In the case, when the advertisement is dedicated to Onet website it should meet the
additional self-requirements of the website:
a) regardless of the type it can overload the processor of the standard computer at
most in 30%. As the standard is assumed a computer with Intel Celeron 1,7 GHz or
AMD Duron 1,7 GHz processor with the installed Flash Player v. 7;

b) it is recommended, that the flash advertisements are delivered with the source files
(FLA) together with types; it will enable Onet.pl to verify the technical parameters and
the correctness of the advertisement’s realization as well as the introduction of
necessary amendments;
c) creative of type toplayer, brandmark, interstitial etc. must contain a closing button
(clickable on the whole of its surface), situated in the top right corner of the creative
on a non-transparent background. The button consists of a cross in the “X” position
located in the middle of a square frame (of minimum size 14x14 pixels) or, preceded
by the word “ZAMKNIJ” (CLOSE) (capitals, font Verdana, 9 px); the whole button
should be drawn in lines minimum 2 pixels wide, and upon clicking it should close the
creative. For creatives of irregular shape the closing button should be placed
maximum 20 pixels away (to the right or to the top) from the top right edge of the
main element of the composition; the button should be static, it should have a similar
contrast and clarity as the main element of the composition and it should remain of
the same size and colour for the whole time of display of the advertisement. Creatives
that differ from the above defined scheme will be assessed by Onet.pl on an
individual basis, in the aspect of their compliance with the requirements of
ergonomics of use of the portal.
d) creatives of .swf type must have the frequency of max. 25 fps (frames per second);
the recommended value is 18 fps;
e) In the advertisements of banner, billboard, skyscraper, scroller type the .swf
creative cannot contain the looped sounds (reproduced for the whole time of the
banner’s appearance or periodically); the sound cannot be longer than 2.5 seconds;
17.In the case, when the advertisement is dedicated to the WP website, it should
additionally meet the self-requirements of the website:
a) creatives of .swf type must have the frequency of max. 25 fps (frames per
second);the recommended value is 12 fps;
b) the cross closing the creative (of toplayer, brandmark, interstitial type) must be
placed in the top right corner of the creative and have the minimum size of 15x15
pixels.
c) In the advertisements of banner, billboard, skyscraper, scroller type the .swf
creative cannot contain the looped sounds (reproduced for the whole time of the
banner appearance or periodically); the sound cannot be longer than 3 seconds;
18.In the case, when the creatives are not emitted by the AdOcean/gDE+ a technical
specification of the particular editors should be taken into consideration. Such situation
takes place, when the creative is meant for permanent presence (unless the agency
informs that this is not the case) and always in the case of communicators (e.g. tlen,
gadu-gadu).
In that case in the function: getURL(_root.clickTag,"_blank"); for the website:
WP – instead of clickTag click is applied
Interia – instead of clickTag gdaadlink is applied
Onet – instead of clickTag click is applied
Adnet/Gadu-gadu – remains unchanged
Gazeta – remains unchanged
IDMnet – instead of clickTag click is applied
ArboMedia – remains unchanged
O2/Tlen – remains unchanged
In the case of other editors, you should consult the specification delivered by them.
Caution – here it is important, that each editor introduces his own restrictions
concerning, among others, the size of creative, the number of frame rates per
second, and the functions that describe it.
In the case of permanent existence, the creative is approved by the editor and must
be realized in accordance with the specification of the particular editor. Thus, it is very

important to define, before the creatives’ realization, which of them will be placed for
permanent existence, so that they are realized in accordance with the specification of

II. COMPLETE SET AND ONOMATOLOGY OF MATERIALS
As the complete set of materials we consider:
•The complete set of creatives fulfilling the requirements of the specification,
•Active url addresses of destination pages,
•Serving codes, if they are required.
Onomatology of materials:
•It is recommended to use the names of the following type: form_ of
creative_size_version_service;
•In the names you should use small letters, underlining and numbers; it is recommended
not to use space-bar in the names.
Active urls:
•Should be given in the table, in which one column contains the names of creatives and
the second the corresponding url (this is not necessary, when there is only one
destination address for the whole campaign).

Remark 1: All creatives must have detailed, assumed size and weights, no bigger than
provided in the tables regarding the particular forms of the advertisement in the column.
These weights may be exceeded only when it is clearly defined by the campaign’s
assumptions. However, in no case may they exceed the top restriction for a single
creative settled as 40 kB (with the exception of popunder – 50 kB).
Remark 2: creative .swf of Toplayer type must be settled to remain on the page
maximally up to 30s but, in the case when it is dedicated to pages:
−Gazeta.pl – up to 15s,
−IDG – up to 10s,
−AdNet – up to 10s,
−WP – 10s presentation of the page contents + 10s static navigational object.
IV. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT FORMS.
:: CREATIVES .GIF/JPG ::
-The creative must have weight and sizes consistent with its description
-The creative must have the same name as the creative .swf (differing only in the
extension).
:: CREATIVES .SWF ::
-The creative must have weight and sizes consistent with its description
-The creative must have the same name as the creative .gif/jpg (differing only in the
extension)
-All creatives .swf, regardless of their form must have stitched variable
_root.clickTag enabling tracking of clicks by the adserver:

1.We create a new layer over the prepared animation. We set it as the highest one.
2.We draw a rectangular space on it, which we transform into the symbol– button.
3.We enter into the symbol and endow its contents with the transparency parameter.
4.To the symbol we tie the following call of the function: getURL and
settle the parameters:

CAUTION: PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIZE OF LETTERS IN THE VARIABLE _root.clickTag
-With the creative .swf you should deliver the hexadecimal colour of the background
(with the exception of layer forms)
V. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT FORMS.
:: BRANDMARK ::
The advertisement form recommended to browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and
higher.
a.creative should have the closing cross with the binding:

By the notion of „closing cross” we understand the rectangular button with the sizes outlined by
the arms of the cross, min. 14x14 px except such cases when publisher's specification says
different, details point I.17-18)
b.creative should have button minimizing the advertisement to the form of beam
with binding:

In that shape, the advertisement booted from the serving code cannot block
the area approximately bigger than the contour of the beam. The size of the
visible area in the minimized state is regulated by the number parameters in
the function ”bm_min()” in the serving code. It is inadmissible, that the
transparent area of the size of standard advertisement is clickable or renders
impossible clicking on the links in the website contents.
CAUTION: For this creative the symbol button cannot cover the beam area. creative by
„catching” the beam cannot transfer to the Client’s page.
c.creative should have a button returning to the standard size of the
advertisement with the binding:

The function is responsible for the enlargement of the visible area to the initial
sizes. This size should be regulated with the numerical values in the function
”bm_max()” in the serving code.
:: TOPLAYER ::

The advertisement form recommended to Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.
a.The creative should have an active area on its whole surface and throughout
the whole emission time (in the folded and unfolded state) with the following
binding:

The size of the visible area in the folded and unfolded state is regulated by
the numerical parameters in the functions ”dolittle()” and „doexpand()” in the
serving code. After directing the mouse on the advertisement it should unfold,

whereas after moving the mouse off the advertisement’s area, the layer should
fold to the original state.
CAUTION: in the case of expand skyscrappers you should draw attention to the fact, whether on
the given website, to which the creative is prepared (expand skyscrapper) it should unfold to the
right or to the left, and prepare the material accordingly.
:: PUSH BILLBOARD ::
Advertisement format recommended for Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.
Impression of a creative starts with a display of minimized format with a size of 750x100
pixels. When fully downloaded, .swf creative invokes dopushlock() function. It
automatically stretches the service and uncovers the layer where a creative is placed to
the size of 750x300 pixels. After 5 seconds, dopushunlock() function is invoked, which
starts to gradually unstretch the service and cover .swf creative to the initial size. After
this process is completed, the dopushon() and dopushoff() functions, which operate by
analogy to the ones described above) are unblocked; their invocation is regulated by the
user's actions (moving the cursor with the mouse over/off a creative). Up to that moment,
animation effects, invoked after moving the cursor over/off a creative, should be blocked
in the flash creative.
a. Creative should have an active area on its all surface and throughout all ad
impression period (in rolled down and expanded form) with the following link:

a.creative swf – the effect of scrolling should be realized in the creative.
b.creative gif/jpg should be static – the effect of scrolling is acquired with the use
of the serving code.
:: SCROLL ::
Creative should have a defined button layer prepared by analogy to the one prepared for
.swf creative. A cross which finishes scrolling is provided by the serving code.

:: MAILING ::
HTML creative should be executed according to the publisher's specification. It is
necessary to add the following information to the sent mailing:
- data about publisher
- advertiser's return e-mail
- e-mail theme
- name of e-mail sender
and other information required by a publisher.
WHAT IS WORTH KNOWING
How to check, whether the .swf file has appropriately „stitched” _root.clickTag?
In the browser’s window (e.g..: IE 6) we write the url address to the .swf file (not locally
but by http://), we add without leaving any space: ?clickTag= and, also without space,
the url address, to which the creative should transfer, other than the destination address
for the given campaign, e.g.: http://www.adocean.pl. Then we click the creative. If in the
new window the page, whose url address we wrote opens, then the creative is realized
correctly, e.g..:
