As we prepare to begin the registration process for students, questions have been raised regarding the specific course offerings that will be available. As is the current practice across the district, course offerings will reflect the grade level enrollment and interest of our student population. As Liberty’s student population grows, so will the variety of courses. We are confident that Liberty will eventually offer an array of courses similar to our other two comprehensive high schools; how quickly we will reach that point will depend on our student enrollment. During class registration, students will be presented with a large number of course titles from which to choose. After registration is complete, the administration will decide which courses have garnered enough interest to be offered at Liberty in the 2017-2018 school year. Students who have selected courses that don’t have enough interest to be offered on site will receive additional guidance to select from the list of viable courses, or may be provided with options to access courses through other means, such as attendance at the Kirkwood Regional Center, distance learning, or shared courses with West High School. It is entirely possible that a course not offered in the 2017-2018 school year, will be able to be offered in the following year given an increase in student enrollment. At a minimum, the district is committed to offering the following course options on site for the 2017-2018 school year, which allows Liberty High School to open as a comprehensive 9th-12th grade educational center. In addition to the courses listed below, Liberty will also provide a range of programming to meet the individual learning needs of students who require specialized instruction, including special education and English Language services.
