The Situation
The Tornado was evaluated as equipment used for preparation of compounded and were tested in Tricida’s invitro assays and ended up working perfectly. Previously, Tricida had been preparing compounds in “one
experiment at a time” mode. The Heidolph Radley's Tornado unit allowed us to prepare 6 compounds at a
time. It also allowed us to survey reaction parameters. Setting 6 reactions at a time was challenging, and
making sure that the unit worked properly and gave us accurate results. It takes care an attention to make it
work.
The Objective
The objective was to discover a candidate compound as a clinical candidate for the company Tricida. There
were no safety reasons or teaching reasons. The reactors are space and time efficient.
Results
