Eastleigh Lakeside Railway
The Early Years
The 101/4” & 71/4” dual gauge miniature
railway runs from its main station, Eastleigh
Parkway to Monks Brook Halt and then
back to Eastleigh Parkway.
Trains are usually steam hauled.*
The journey of just under 11/4 miles takes
about 15-20 minutes. Monks Brook Halt
gives an opportunity to visit the lakes,
children’s playground or use the adjacent
picnic tables.
Our souvenir shop stocks the full range
of Thomas and Bigjigs models.
*except for the last trains of the day
Eastleigh Lakeside Railway has 25 Locomotives in its collection.
We believe this is the largest collection of Miniature Locomotives
on a commercial railway in the UK. 22 are steam and most of
them are in steam on gala days.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Eastleigh Lakeside
Railway. To celebrate this, we are holding a special Gala
Weekend on the 22nd and 23rd July.
The 2-day event will feature all our locomotives, subject to
mechanical availability.
The theme will be the 1990’s at ELR so our original fleet
of 5 locos’ will take centre stage. Sandy River, William
Baker, The Monarch, Sir Arthur Heywood and D1994.
