CAMPUS CLOSET
Grants Pass Council, PTA is happy to announce the
scheduled openings of the Campus Closet. If these days &
times do not work for you, contact Mary Cardiff at 6608566. The facility is not open during school hours. Stop
by your child’s school to obtain an admit slip. The
Campus Closet is located on the south side of North
Middle School in room B8 at 1725 NW Highland Ave.
The purpose of Campus Closet is to furnish ageappropriate and proper fitting clothing to all children who
come to us needing these services. By caring for the basic
needs of our youth and allowing them to dress as their
peers, we are encouraging positive self-esteem, academic
success and regular class attendance.

Nurse’s Notes:
It is not unusual to see cases of strep throat from
late fall through spring. I have heard of some cases
around the district. Parents, teachers and students
can prevent the spread of strep throat infections by
following these basic guidelines:
1. Good Hygiene: Good hand washing,
especially after coughing and sneezing
(cover), and before preparing foods or eating.
Proper tissue use and disposal will help limit
spread of strep and many other infections as
well.
2. Go to the doctor if you have symptoms:
Strep throat symptoms typically start with
sudden fever, red, painful sore throat and
possibly white patches on the tonsils.
Nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain can
occur, more common in children than adults.
Treatment will reduce the chance of
complications.
3. Stay home if you’re sick: If the test result
shows strep throat, the person must stay
home from work, school, or day care until 24
hours after antibiotic started. It is very
important to finish all your medicine to
prevent complications.

especially during the
rainy season and for “accidents”. Please think
of us when you are cleaning out your closets

It is also important to know and realize that a sore
throat does not always mean one has strep throat.
See the links below for more about strep throat and
information about antibiotic use.
