Dianella Health brings a multicultural perspective to International
Women’s Day event
International Women's Day is a global day for celebrating the achievements of
women. The day also marks a call to action for gender equality.
Dianella Health is committed to building a community which values and respects women. For
International Women’s Day, Dianella is working with Foundation House in supporting the
Assyrian/Chaldean Christian Faith Women’s Group in hosting a free event for all women and
children.
Knowing firsthand the hardships refugees and asylum seekers face when settling in a new
community, the women of the Christian Faith Women’s Group formed to help newly arrived
people from Arabic speaking backgrounds make the transition to living in the City of Hume
more easily.
Taking place at Connections@Craigieburn, the event is open to women and children from all
cultural backgrounds. International Women’s Day event is an opportunity for women to
gather, share their stories and celebrate their achievements throughout the year. Among
some of the entertaining activities planned are belly dancing demonstrations and lessons,
Bollywood dancing, music and song, henna art, multicultural cuisine, handicrafts and even a
fashion parade!
Dianella Health CEO Dr Neil Cowen is pleased to see the Population Health Team
supporting International Women’s Day in such a unique fashion. “At Dianella we’re very
proud that diversity and gender equality are some of the key principles we champion in the
community. This International Women’s Day event reflects that and also highlights the
important work we carry out with the support of the community.”
