been revived after owner Len Hizzett
stepped back from the building trade
to pursue a niche in the current

Friends and colleagues were
constantly telling Len he should
go back into the trailer business
because the Hizzett brand had been
synonymous with a good-quality
product.
Having obtained new premises
at Lochinver Farm near Elgin and
invested in modern equipment,
Hizzett Trailers can now offer
custom-built trailers using steel and
aluminium along with other services
such as repairing pick-up bodies and
building and refurbishing glass fibre
bodied units.
The company offers versatility
to suit the client’s needs with
experience in the trailer trade dating
back to the early 1970s.
Hizzett Trailers can service,
refurbish or build commercial and
industrial trailers to meet all aspects
of the market including sheep, cattle,
horse, van and boat trailers, as well as
car and motorbike transporters.
The company also runs a towbar
fitting service and has sheet metal
cutting and bending facilities.
As the only independent trailer
specialist in Moray, Hizzett Trailers
is concerned about the number of
trailers currently in use which do not
meet mandatory standards.
Many drivers are unaware of
ongoing changes to legislation
relating to the construction and
towing of any type of trailer, resulting
in possible police stop checks,
on-the-spot fines and subsequent
penalty points.
Tyres, brakes, lights and breakaway
cables have strict legal requirements
which people need to consider.
