Area 58 District 7 Meeting Minutes
January 12th, 2017
Attendance: Clint, Randy, Sadie, Kathie, Pete, Scott, Gerald, Les, Launie, Crystal, Sherry, Jerry
and Ryan.
Open: Meeting opened by Crystal at 6:30pm with the serenity prayer.
Tradition and Concept: Stan read the 1st tradition. Never break anonymity at radio, press film
level. Concept 11 was read by Steve.
Minutes: Clint read December minutes. Ryan notioned to amend the $300 for Crystal to go to
PRAASA. passed
District Reports
Treasury Report: Gerald: Not much happened this month, we started with a balance of
$399.41 on Dec.6. On that same day I wrote check number 1416 to our DCM for the November
Assembly expenses for $186.88. Then we also received the account service fee charge of $5.00
on Dec. 31. These withdrawals brought the total balance to $207.53 which is our ending balance
on Jan. 2.
Committee Reports
Corrections: Ryan reports everything is good and 2 meetings are being brought into Oregon
Youth Authority a month.
Grapevine: Ryan reports that Sandy G was drawn at last meeting. Ryan needs to contact her.
Ryan had suggested to taking to homegroups to see if they want to buy a homegroup
subscription.
Sunshine Committee: Heather reports committee is currently looking for Co-chair. Planning on
making flyer to obtain position.
Workshop Committee: Ryan reports the date we selected coincided with the assembly so we
need to find a new day.
SORYPAA: This committee reformed as Oregon Regional Campout of Young People in
Alcoholics Anonymous (ORCYPAA). There is an activity January 28th at the HI-LO club at 6pm
called Curry-okee. Bring Curry and ther will be prize for the best curry.
GSR Reports
Friday Night Speaker: Pete reports that positions rotated and he is new GSR. He will better
informed next meeting.
Rogue River Sunday Night: Randy reports that the group voted in to fund GST attendance at
assembly. Excited about the change. The group averages about 50 people.
Easy Does It: Les reports that the group has a huge amount of money. Will talk about dispersing
it. Huge group on an average of about 60-70 people. Business meeting is the 3rd Friday after the
regular meeting.
Tuesday Women’s Safe Haven Group: Generaly attendance is under 30.
Business
Old Business: Do we want to merge savings and checking account? We agreed to consider GSR
scholarship fund and lower Prudent Reserve to 6 months. We can keep a joined account while
separating Prudent Reserve on paper. We need hard copies of treasurers document. Sense of the
body to keep account the same or change it. Les makes notion to move money in savings to
checking. Randy 2nd and notion passed.
New Business: Crystal is waiting on treasury report from the workshop. It was well attended and
over 100 people showed. We still ended up in the negative. Sadie will check on place to have
workshop. Discussion on day to have the workshop Anonymity Revealed. Randy made a notion
to have it March11th in the afternoon. Minority spoke. 2nd and passed. Sadie will look and see if
that will work with the venue we are trying for.
