October 2015
Midterms have come to pass, and it is now the season of autumn leaves,
sweaters, and pumpkin everything. Fall may mark the half point of the semester,
own Induction ceremony!
Our Honors in Action (HIA) project is also well on its way! This year’s
project is regarding the establishment of available programs for veteran
dependents, such as transitional programs, support groups, and counseling. The
findings of this research will determine our course of action: whether to promote
these programs, specifically to the community of veteran families, or to lobby for
more awareness of the need and for proaction towards the creation of these
services. The Officers are still in need of volunteers to conduct research. If you
are interested or would like to participate, then please contact any of the Officers.
We would greatly appreciate the help and would love to welcome you into the
HIA group!
With C4 week, the fundraiser, and campus activities, the Executive Board
of Chapter Officers and Liaisons have been busy planning exciting events that
hopefully you will partake in and enjoy as well! So go on ahead and read about
what the ANO Chapter has been up to!

Officer Introductions
Wyatt Neyman – President
I have been attending HACC for two years. I am a
Psychology major, and I plan to transfer to earn a
bachelor’s degree, and then attend graduate school.
I recently was elected President of HACC’s Phi Theta
Kappa Alpha Nu Omega Chapter, which has enhanced
my life to say the least. I am watching myself grow as a
leader through service and endless opportunities of
learning. I am thankful for this opportunity that HACC
has presented me.
Denise Tan – Recording Secretary
Greetings everyone! I am a Nursing Major, and this year will mark
my third year at HACC, as well as my exciting start at clinicals. If
everything goes well, I plan on graduating from HACC with my
Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Then I wish to attend Millersville
University for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I will keep on
going at it until I reach my dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner
– which is still a very long way to go!
As ANO’s recording secretary, I am so thrilled and proud to be a
part of the hardworking executive board! I feel a tad bit regretful
that I did not participate right away after being inducted into PTK
because it is such a wonderful organization; so, I would highly
recommend being involved as soon and as much as you can. I’m
quite excited for the upcoming events that we have in store, and I
can’t wait to be sharing them with you all!

Alycia Hebenstreit – Vice President of Programs
I am so happy to have been elected as the PTK ANO Vice
President of Programs. I am a nursing student enrolled in
York’s part-time day program. I am in my second semester of
clinicals. I am also a nontraditional student. I am 28 yearsold. I have two wonderful boys Taylor and Hayden and a
wonderful husband Ken. Since being a member of PTK, I
have been able to donate some of my time to the community
and college through volunteering. I was thrilled to be able to
participate in this year’s Relay for Life. I volunteer at
different PTK ANO events. I also support our youth football
league by helping coach boy’s flag football in the spring, and
in the fall, I volunteer as team mom for tackle football. The
hallmarks of PTK—fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and
service have helped me to become a better person. I am
excited for Induction on October 23! Can’t wait to see you
there!
Interested in becoming an officer? The ANO Executive Board is still incomplete and is
currently seeking candidates for our vacant Vice President and Treasurer positions. Please
