We have been following the Fairy Tail guild from the very beginning; standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Lucy (Aya Hirano) as she
first joined the raucous makeshift family of mages. Like many fans across the globe, we’ve joined in as they’ve grown, laughed and
cried together in this magical adventure that’s spanned almost ten years.
As the original manga approaches its climax, Glasgow-based distributor Anime Limited (Your Name, A Silent Voice) is giving fans an
unprecedented opportunity to see this latest instalment, which features some of the top talent in anime, in cinemas nationwide only two
weeks after its Japanese premiere.
Editor's Notes:
About Fairy Tail:
Serialised in Japan’s Weekly Sh■nen Magazine since 2006 and with over 60 million collected volumes in print worldwide, Hiro
Mashima’s Fairy Tail fantasy action manga follows the story of Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia, members of the titular mage
guild. Infamous for both its power and rowdiness, Natsu was taken in after being abandoned by the dragon who raised him, while Lucy
ran away from her luscious lifestyle to seek her dream. Together, they will face many battles as they protect their kingdom and family,
from the magical forces that would do them harm.
Fairy Tail was adapted into a television anime series by A-1 Pictures and director Shinji Ishihira, which ran for 277 episodes between
October 2009 and March 2016. The series is currently available on DVD in the United Kingdom from Anime Limited, distributing on
behalf of Funimation Entertainment.
The franchise’s first feature film instalment, Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess (dir. Masaya Fujimori) was first shown to
Japanese audience in 2012, before releasing to home video in the United Kingdom in 2014.
