Kiddie Series™ of Dwarf Flowering Pears

MADISON, OH – May 22, 2012 – In the pear world, the Kiddie Series™ are a milestone. Jack® and Jill™, members of
the Kiddie Series™ of dwarf flowering pears only get half the size of the species! Since callery pears
(Pyrus calleryana) are a favorite street tree, Jack® and Jill™ are welcome alternatives to other Pyrus selections.
Reaching a mature height of approximately 15’, The Kiddie Series™ are the only ornamental pears that comfortably
fit under utility lines.
In addition, Jack® only spreads about 10’ in width. Sporting a tight, compact branching structure, pyramidal form
and a dense habit make it appear it has been trimmed. Unlike other pear trees, Jack® is a Streamlined Care Free
Maintenance™ trees which means it needs no pruning to maintain its form. Translating into savings both time and
labor for home owners and municipalities.
Jack’s sister Jill is a little rounder in habit reaching a width around 15’. It offers more open branch scaffolding and
smaller, oblong shape, olive green toned foliage. Sparsely fruiting, Jill has the prettiest pear fruit.
One of the best assets of this series is they are fireblight resistant. Jack® and Jill™ are hardy to USDA Zone 4 and
can bring beautiful spring flowers and lush summer foliage to even the smallest tree areas.
