A Letter from Guild President, Mark Wygonik
I’m still floating somewhere on
Cloud 9…the Genies were wonderful, it was delightful to see so many
of this year’s performers in the audience, and even more so to watch as
they received accolades from the
Genie Judges, and from their peers.
That little farce that opened the Season did OK, I’m happy to report.
(Our audiences LOVE to laugh…
especially at silliness such as HOTBED HOTEL.) Everyone should be
very proud of the high level of performances and technical creativity
that we witnessed during our 55th
Season. I know I am.
Project Capital Campaign, we want
the show to be as much fun as possible. From getting caught in the rain
(in the middle of the Indian River in
Sebastian) on the way to a photo
shoot on a “Pirate Ship”, to watching the rocky Cornwall Coast of
England take shape on our stage, to
laughing with the Costume Committee as another Pirate ensemble materializes…we certainly are having
fun putting Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta together. I hope that all of
you will “Get Your Pirate On”, and
join us for a rollicking good time.

New Board members took office in
June, and I was again asked to lead
the helm for another year. I am honored that you have faith in my efforts;
I think the past year was a great one,
and I will work hard to make this
coming Season even better.

Heart of the Guild
Gary BruceSayles
The Guild family mourns the loss of Gary Bruce
Sayles. Gary graced the stage in many Guild shows,
including Proposals, and most recently, Oklahoma!.
Gary also directed at the Guild. His kindness, gentle nature, talent and smile will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts go out to his family at this difficult
time.
A benefit to assist the family with medical costs will be held at the
Guild on August 17 at 7pm.Entertainment will be provided by Dragonfly Productions, a group with which Gary was involved for the
past 4 years. More information will be posted on the Guild website
