RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NAPLES, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the City of Naples has experienced and is experiencing
a phenomenal industrial and residential growth, and
WHEREAS, the City of Naples annually offers its facilities to
thousands of winter visitors and tourists, and
WHEREAS, for many years Tamiami Trail Tours, Inc., operating
as Tamiami Trailways, has rendered efficient motor bus transportation
generally along the west coast of Florida, including service between
Tampa and Miami via U. S. Highway 41 and via St. Petersburg; and service
throughout peninsular Florida, including service between Jacksonville and
Tampa and Jacksonville and Miami via Orlando, and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of
the City of Naples that Tamiami Trailways has filed an application with
the Florida Public Service Commission and with the Interstate Commerce
Commission for authority to transport passengers, baggage, express and
newspapers over various routes that will connect the lower west coast of
Florida with the Orlando area; that will provide direct service between
the lower west coast of Florida and Orlando, Ocala, Winter Haven area,
Cape Kennedy and Daytona Beach, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and essential that said applications
be granted in order that public convenience and necessity be best served
so that industry, residents and visitors to this populous area may enjoy
efficient passenger service between the area described above without
interchange over the routes of Trailways.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City

1967, that this City Council formally approves the
applications of Tamiami Trailways for the extension of its common carrier
bus service between the cities involved in the application now pending in
docket No. 9113-CCB before the Florida Public Service Commission and that
this City Council respectfully requests the Florida Public Service Commission and the Interstate Commerce Commission to grant said applications.
