This role-alike session is the first of three opportunities to
network, share content, and build skills with L2L attendees
who share similar roles in ASCD leadership.
During this session, participants will set the context for the
L2L Conference experience by gathering for introductions
and shared goal setting.

Gallery walk intro
As a group, participants should identify a question they
want to answer/focus on/discuss over the course the
event. This may be a question related to their role, related
to the state of education, related to ASCD, etc. The
question will be posted on chart paper and participants are
urged to use markers to respond, ask for clarification,
share ideas, etc. throughout the two days.
The question should represent a goal of the group overall to focus their
experience and provide them and anchor point to return to. The completed
chalk talks will be used in a gallery walk on Saturday morning.

the day specifically related to their role group and raising
any current issues to the group for conversations.
Participants should take at least five minutes at the
beginning of the session and at the end of the session to
write on the chalk talk.

The chalk talks for all of the role alike groups will be on
display around the ballroom for members of other groups to
discover, contribute to, etc. Participants will observe the
chalk talks at their own pace considering the issues of
importance to the other groups and identifying for themselves
ways that they might support the group’s efforts.
