This Blood Drive will be in honor of Katie Baird. Katie was involved in an ATV wreck on Jan. 24th, 2016. She suffered a
traumatic brain injury, fractured C-2, fractured skull, broken collarbone, 6 broken ribs and lung contusions. She had to
undergo the removal of a blood clot on her brain, as well as suffering a stroke on the left side of her brain. She was in a
medically induced coma for two weeks and had to receive several blood transfusions during her stay in ICU.
Katie and her mom, Leieh Sheffield, were long-time members of Wesley UMC.
WE DESPERATELY NEED CANDY!! WE HAVE PLENTY OF EGGS - BUT NEED INVIDUALLY
WRAPPED CANDY TO STUFF THEM WITH!! PLEASE DROP YOUR CANDY OFF ASAP!!!!
Meet us in the parlor!!
Do you start out your week energetic - only to find yourself needing a midweek boost?
What better way to receive such a boost than by spending 15 - 20 minutes at the Lord's table - in
communion with Christ along with your brothers and sisters in Christ? John Wesley, the father of
Methodism, understood Holy Communion to be, "not a self-congratulatory meal for saints, but rather a lifechanging meal for sinners." The main requirement to be invited to eat with Jesus is rather simple one must be hungry!!
Do you need a boost? Are you hungry? Then come and join us every
Wednesday at 12 noon for a brief (15-20) Communion Service to recharge your batteries.
We hope to see you there!!
This week's Wednesday Night Meal is CHICKEN TERIYAKI STIR FRY!!
Served in the Dining Hall from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.
$5 for adults - $3 for children

Pick up your copy today - or download it on Kindle - and start reading.
The next book club meeting is Tuesday, April 19th at 1:30 pm in
the Bride's Room
Healing Sands
Her life was spinning out of control. A mix of anger and emptiness defined her.
Desperate for true peace, she headed to a place of rest - the healing sands.
Ryan Coe feels lost - her marriage is over, her kids are living with their dad, her God-life is silent, and her
patience is practically non-existent. To top it off, her once exciting job as a photojournalist has been
reduced to taking pictures of enchilada festivals and B-level actors. But when she arrives at the scene of a
crime and sees her son's face through her zoom lens, her world crashes. Her only mission - to find out
who really did this and why they framed her. But before she can help anyone. Ryan's got to get her anger
in check. She turns to Sullivan Crisp's Healing Choices clinic, but even that doesn't go according to plan.
Quirky and unusual don't even begin to describe Sully and she soon realizes that he isn't the quick-fix
therapist she was hoping for. Between his unorthodox counseling and a group of women who are the first
real friends she's had in a long time, Ryan begins to realize it's not control she's for, but something much
more powerful.
Seeds for Needs Community Garden
WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! It's almost time!!!
Planting time in the garden is just around the corner!! As
you can see - our beds are taking shape and we will be
ready to plant vegetables by the end of the month!! It's also
time for the fruit trees and blueberry bushes to be
planted. Now is the time for you to get involved! Anyone
and everyone is welcome!! Here are a few ways you can help; we are always looking for
help working in the gardens - especially now that it is time to plant. You can also help by
donating money to help cover the expenses of planting and managing the garden.
Click here to make a donation
The produce from the garden will be given to Church members in need, Meals on Wheels,
our own church kitchen, and the area soup kitchens that provide meals for the needy in our
community.

please contact Tony Lucenti at 409.656.4352
Well Versed Women Sunday School Class

Things".

When Godly People Do Ungodly Things
It is reported in the headlines, confessed in the pulpits,
and hidden in the pews in churches around the world. The
seduction of God's people by the deceiver is a tale as old
as the garden, but we are always surprised when it
happens. We must realize that Satan is a lion on the
prowl and we are his prey. Beth writes with a passion
fueled by biblical warnings of the schemes of Satan's
seductive activity and the broken-hearted concern of a
teacher who receives countless letters from repentant
Christians limping on the road restoration. Delivering dire
warnings to Christians to safeguard themselves against
Satan's attacks, Beth reveals how to know if someone is
vulnerable. Beth writes, "We, Christ's church, are in
desperate need of developing His heart and mind in
issues like these." She fears that often God is far more
merciful than the Body of Christ is with the deeply repentant and those desperate to find their way
home. When Godly People Do Ungodly Things will be a guide to authentic repentance and restoration.
When volunteers providing food to elderly and poor people through the Meals on
Wheels program began to notice that people were sharing their limited food with
their pets, an organization called AniMeals was developed to feed their pets as
well.
Please help Wesley's Friendly Beast ministry collect small bags of dry dog or cat
food for these seniors. Place you food in the DOG HOUSE outside of the church
office and Nutrition and Services for Seniors will pick them up when they deliver
the senior's meals to our church.
Thank you,
Friendly Beasts
