Brush the board in either cooled boiled water or edible glue, lift the sugarpaste onto it and cut the excess off around the edges. Position the ‘metal’ texture sheet on one side of the board and press firmly down to emboss the pattern into the sugarpaste. Repeat this process, moving the texture sheet all over the sugarpaste until it is completely embossed. Spray over with silver lustre spray to give the effect of metal. © Cake Craft World Ltd 2013 www.cakecraftworld.co.uk R R R R R R Page 1 of 2 Rainbow chocolate drops Pavoni heavy vehicles plunger cutters Step 3 Step 2 Cover an 8” round cake with black sugarpaste on a separate cake board or surface then carefully lift it onto the decorated board, a little buttercream placed on the board beforehand will keep it from moving. While the icing is still soft, press the ‘tyre’ texture mat firmly around the side of the cake. To create the design on the top of the cake, cut away a circle of black sugarpaste from the centre. The easiest way to do this is to cut around a thin circular cake board with a small sharp knife or scalpel then lift away the sugarpaste. Step 4 Now roll out some white sugarpaste and emboss over with the ‘cogs’ texture mat pressing it firmly into the icing. Cut out a circle using the thin board as a template, spray with the silver lustre spray and carefully place into the centre of the cake, replacing the black sugarpaste. The cake can now be finished to your own design adding a message, tools and other decorations to suit. Step 6 Step 5 To cut out the 2 & 1 we used the Patchwork large number cutters and modelling paste so that the icing sets hard enough to stand up. Emboss the icing with the ‘cogs’ texture mat before cutting the numbers out and leave them overnight to set before attaching them to the side of the cake with a little royal icing. The ‘Happy Birthday’ message was cut out using the block upper and lower case Clikstix cutters. © Cake Craft World Ltd 2012 www.cakecraftworld.co.uk The diggers, trucks and tractors around this tyre cake were made using the new Pavoni Heavy Vehicle plunger cutters and coloured sugarpaste. Once cut out, leave the decorations to dry overnight before attaching them to the cake. We added extra colour by adding our Rainbow Chocolate Drops around the centre and finished the cake with tools and flags. Page 2 of 2
