Women’s Ministry (W.O.W) – Keep Trying Failure is never final until a person quits trying. As the person continues to try, failure is no more than a setback…a possibility to learn from mistakes and try again. Failure is a part of the human experience. It can be painful and embarrassing, but it can also be your greatest teacher. God’s definition of success does not preclude failure. However, it includes a willingness to refuse to quit…to learn from one’s mistakes…to try again. Whatever it is that you have resolved to do--lose weight, exercise more, have devotions each day, take a class-don’t quit! Resolve to stay with it. With god, all things are possible. Get started and make it happen! Lord help me to remember today that nothing is going to happen to me that you and I together can’t handle. Amen! There is no guarantee that just because you’re on top of the world today, that your world may not come tumbling down tomorrow. Unfortunately we don’t always appreciate all of God’s blessings until they are gone or we experience some hardship in life. There is no definitive cause for ALS and I don’t know if I did anything to contribute to me contracting this disease, but I am grateful for the quality of life that my family helps me to live. Good health is something that I did not have a full appreciation for before ALS. I thought I would always be able to walk, to talk, to drive, to eat, to hug, to run, and to take care of myself. Never did I ever imagine having to depend on others for my every need. Nevertheless, God could not have surrounded me with a better husband, children, family, church, and work family to take care of me. I won’t complain because I saw a video the other day where a son was talking about his father’s journey with ALS. The son appeared to view the father as a burden. It made me realize everyone, including family, don't always see your fight to live as inspirational. Some view it as a disruption in their own life. Some view you as in the way or an obstruction in their life. Thank God, Pastor and the girls never make me feel that way. If God has entrusted one of his precious gifts of life to your care, then please do your best to care for them with love, compassion, dignity, and respect. I know it is not an easy task to be a caregiver, especially to someone in my condition. This morning I send a shout out to all those who unselfishly, and sacrificially care for others. Those that do it not because they have to, but because they want to. Those that who don’t view it as a burden, but as a blessing. Those who do it not because they like it, but because they love you. You never know what may happen to you in life, so be careful how you treat those entrusted to your care. How you care for them can be the difference between them fighting and them giving up on life. Remember, you may end up in someone’s hands one day. Treat others the way you want to be treated and never forget the sacrifice that they made for you. #MyLifeIsInYourHands Today’s Message on CD or DVD in vestibule We celebrate the following members to the Metro Family!!!
