INTERNATIONAL UNIT
Two major lines of development towards international relations :
1.  International cooperation
Partnership with medical institutions
2.  International patient care
Focus on the patient : in direct contact and/or entrusted by a healthcare
establishment and/or a public health authority.
Partnering with
INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
The HCL are willing to develop cooperation with public and private hospitals
based abroad. The existing cooperations with establishments in foreign countries
have been giving positive results and are based on :
•  Training of international students
The interns are spread across the different establishments of the HCL and benefit
from the expertise of competent doctors and medical staff in a wide range of
specialties.
•  Sharing of expertise
The HCL and the international establishment can share their knowledge and
develop a multicultural approach of the medicine. The HCL can provide support
in the human resources organisation, the development of a new service and assist
the establishment with medical advices. This cooperation also involve Visiting
Doctors and Professors performing conferences, teaching lessons, consultations
and surgeries.
Partnering with
INTERNATIONAL PATIENT CARE
For years, the HCL have been welcoming patients from all over the world, willing
to benefit from the quality of the medical treatment.
In order to optimize the stay of an international patient and to respond to their
particular needs, the HCL is now working closely with French Advanced
Medicine (FAM): a company providing solutions in welcoming and managing an
international patient, as well as organising Visiting doctors & professors.
•  Dedicated staff
The HCL and FAM will make sure international patients are accompanied during
their entire stay by bilingual medical staff or will propose an interpret, if
necessary.
•  Tailored services
The HCL and FAM are used to work in a multicultural environment and will
always consider specific needs related to the patient’s culture or religion.
