A look ahead to Term 3
Welcome back to 2014! We hope you had a wonderful
holiday and we’d like to say a big thank for the lovely
gifts and cards we received, we were overwhelmed by
your kindness and generosity.
Year 6 will continue to be busy this term, we will be
welcoming Ms. Mahoney, who will join the Year 6 team
until May. Ms. Mahoney worked with us very successfully
last year and helped us make some fantastic progress in
Year 6.
Our SRE lessons will also be taking place this term,
starting in week 2 and continuing until the end of term.
Mr Williams will be joining us to lead these sessions and
if you have anything you want to discuss with us please
pop in.
Swimming has arrived for 6B, they will start on Monday
th
27 January and will go every afternoon that week.

Our class topic highlights…
The reverse of this letter shows you our curriculum overview for Term
3. We will be continuing to learn about the Victorious
Victorians this term and how life has changed for us as a
result.
The children will be exploring what life was like at home and
at school as well as building on their drawing skills as they
create their own Victorian house. We have really enjoyed this
topic and will be ending with a Victorian day, where the
children will have the opportunity to experience a little bit of
Victorian life for themselves.
Term 2 highlights…
60th Anniversary Tea Party and Grand Library Opening
Fun was had by all as the Gruffalo came to visit Stanbridge
to open our school library! This was part of our wonderful
60th anniversary celebrations. We held a 1950s style tea
party and welcomed guests back to the school; past pupils,
staff, governors and parents. We were very proud to share
our achievements and look forward to an exciting future.
