HowStuffWorks In the first four seasons of “SpongeBob SquarePants,” there have been 82 shows and a full-length movie. Here is a sampling of some of the episode guides. Season 1 Pilot:001 First Aired: Saturday May 1, 1999 Help Wanted: SpongeBob applies for a job at the local burger place, "The Krusty Krab" - his life long dream is to work there, but he has to prove to Mr. Krabs and Squidward that he's worthy. Reef Blowers: SpongeBob tries to get rid of a pesky clam shell on the front lawn, which usually annoys Squidward because all the mess ends up on his lawn. Tea at the Treedome: SpongeBob meets a squirrel named Sandy, who invites him over to her undersea treedome for tea one afternoon. Only problem is, it's inside a waterproof treedome, and our spongy hero runs the risk of drying out completely if he attends, but with the help of Patrick, SpongeBob almost get through it. When he tries to leave, Patrick comes in and both characters dry out. 009 First Aired: Saturday September 11, 1999 Nature Pants: SpongeBob decides to leave his civilized life in Bikini Bottom and go live uninhibited and free, among a pack of wild jellyfish. During this time Sandy and Patrick come up with plans to try to get SpongeBob back. Opposite Day: Squidward wants to sell his house and move away, but he knows that no one will buy it if they see rambunctious SpongeBob around. So Squidward decides to tell SpongeBob that today is "Opposite Day," in hopes that he will behave around the real estate agent. 015 First Aired: Monday January 17, 2000 Sleepy Time: SpongeBob discovers what all his friends are dreaming about, but every time he enters a dream he ruins their dreams. Everyone comes to his house and tells him to stop messing with their dreams. Suds: SpongeBob comes down with a case of the SUDS - a flu-like illness in which bubbles escape through pores in the body. Dr. Patrick comes over and tries to convince SpongeBob that he can't go to the Doctor and all of the bad things that happen to people who go to the doctor, like reading Old Magazines. SpongeBob Squarepants Episode Guide 1 HowStuffWorks Season 2 021 First Aired: Thursday October 26, 2000 Something Smells: SpongeBob eats a peanut onion sundae and acquires a hideous case of bad breath. And he can't quite understand why everyone runs away from him whenever he talk. Bossy Boots: When Pearl remodels the Krusty Krab into a hip local hangout, SpongeBob worries about the fate of the original restaurant (not to mention his position as Fry Cook). 030 First Aired: Wednesday March 7, 2001 No Free Rides: SpongeBob fails his driving test. I'm Your Biggest Fanatic: SpongeBob and Patrick go to a fan convention. They meet Kevin C. Cucumber, the leader of the Jellyspotters club and SpongeBob vows to try his best to earn ranks with them. 036 First Aired: Friday September 28, 2001 Jellyfish Hunters: Mr. Krabs turns SpongeBob's idea for 'Jelly Krabby Patties' into a customer favorite. It leads to trouble when the local jellyfish population are hunted to nearextinction. The Fry Cook Games: SpongeBob and Patrick compete in the Annual Fry Cook Games. 039 First Aired: Friday November 30, 2001 Procrastination: SpongeBob has a hard essay. He tries to find things to distract himself from doing the essay. He dozes off and has a scary dream. I'm With Stupid: Patrick's parents are coming over and Patrick doesn't want to look stupid, so he tells SpongeBob to act stupider than him. SpongeBob Squarepants Episode Guide 2 HowStuffWorks Season 3 043 First Aired: Friday March 1, 2002 Nasty Patty: A health inspector shows up at the Krusty Krab, and while he is there, SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs see the news about a guy passing himself off as a health inspector to get free food. Mr. Krabs is so mad he and SpongeBob make a Krabby Patty with a bunch of nasty things. After it is served to the inspector, he chokes on a fly and the two think he died from the patty. They later find out that he was a real health inspector, and that the other one was caught. The Idiot Box: SpongeBob and Patrick buy a big screen TV, just so they can use the box for their imagination. Squidward refuses to believe that they are using their imagination inside the box on account of all the noise they are making. Episode Number: 56 Prod Code: 056 Season Num: 3 First Aired: Saturday October 4, 2003 Born Again Krabs: SpongeBob finds a rotten Krabby Patty under the grill, and Mr. Krabs says that it still tastes good. After Mr. Krabs gets out of the hospital, he says he'll never be cheap again, but doesn't realize that he's not dreaming when his credit card bill is $10,000. I Had An Accident: SpongeBob fears getting hurt in the wild outside world, so he decides to stay indoors forever. Feature Film First Aired: Friday November 19, 2004 The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Plankton steals King Neptune's crown and frames Mr. Krabs. Without something to cover his receding hairline, Neptune goes after Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob manages to strike a deal with the god of the sea: he and Patrick will embark on a perilous journey to the inconveniently-far-away Shell City to recover the crown (however it suddenly ended up there) if Neptune spares Mr. Krabs's life. On their journey, they'll encounter a bunch of creepy monsters in a monster-filled trench, fishy thugs from the Thug Tug who make even the toughest fish from the Salty Spitoon cry, and Plankton's ruthless hit man Dennis, who impedes the progress every chance he gets. With the duo out of the picture, Plankton initiates "Plan Z", his ultimate plan to steal the secret Krabby Patty formula and ultimately rule the world. SpongeBob Squarepants Episode Guide 3 HowStuffWorks Season 4 065 First Aired: Friday September 23, 2005 Selling Out Krabs sells The Krusty Krab to a conglomerate that plans to turn it into a big corporate chain. At first the sell-out brings the kind of peace and quiet Mr. Krabs always wanted. But his early retirement quickly turns into nothing more than one boring day after another, and Mr. Krabs finds himself living a life without purpose. So he takes a job as a busboy at the Krusty Krab only to find that it has been transformed into a heartless mockery of his former restaurant. With the help of SpongeBob and Squidward, Krabs stages a fast food coup against the new management. 071 First Aired: Friday November 11, 2005 Have You Seen This Snail While trying to beat a paddle-ball world record, SpongeBob forgets to feed Gary - for 10 days. Gary runs away to downtown Bikini Bottom where he is taken in by a kindly old woman who confuses him with one of her many deceased pets. Once SpongeBob realizes that he has neglected Gary, he sets out in a townwide search for him. Meanwhile, as Gary is wrapped in comfy blankets and indulged in and endless assortment of snacks, he discovers a very dark secret about this sweet old woman. 073- First Aired: Saturday April 1, 2006 Krusty Towers / Mrs. Puff, You're Fired After Mr. Krabs gets a huge hotel bill he decides that he can make a profit from opening his own. When Patrick decides to visit the hotel, Mr. Krabs demands Squidward to never deny a guest even the most ridiculous request, but Patrick frustrates Squidward so badly, he quits. Squidward then decides to check into the Krusty Towers. Mrs. Puff, You're Fired: Mrs. Puff gets fired from her boating school job because she doesn’t pass SpongeBob. Instead, a more-intense new instructor takes her place. 080 First Aired: Friday October 13, 2006 Bummer Vacation: Mr. Krabs forces SpongeBob to take his very first vacation.
