Kentucky became a state in
1792. The capital (Frankfort)
has 27,741 people. Jefferson
city was the first to fight the
union states in 1860. Vanceburg dedicated dead soldiers
from the war to the Ohio river. Kentucky got it’s name
from 3 native American
tribes.

In Kentucky, rocks are the biggest
landform. They are the biggest in
the southeast region. The Ohio river covers half of Kentucky. Kentucky is separated from all the
states because of the river.
Kentucky is the second state
for producing coal. All of
those factories produce 1,100
cities of water and coal. Kentucky is much of factories and
coal
stations.
Coal
provides heat and other stuff.
The Kentucky flag is the pledge of
the allegiance flag. It was adopted
in 1962. Kentucky's state fossil is
the brachiopod. It was adopted in
1986. Kentucky’s state tree is the
tulip poplar. It was adopted in
1999.

TOURISTS ATRACTIONS:
An interesting place to visit in
Kentucky is the mammoth cave.
Scientists haven't discovered the
whole place yet! It is located
southeast of Louisville. Mammoth
cave is the biggest cave in the
world. Sadly, mammoth cave is
polluting. The NPCA is trying to
stop the pollution.

ANIMALS:
In Kentucky, a unique animal is
the cave crayfish. The crayfish
lives in cave waters. Some of the
crayfish live in caves or open waters. They eat tiny insects that
crawl on the cave. Crayfish are
about 6 cm. wide! People are sad
about the animal because the
animal is an endangered species.
