SADDLEBACK FARM SHOP SADDLEBACK FARM SHOP As a family we have been focused on farming in West Berkshire for over 60 years. Our Meat Both the beef and the lamb that you see in the butchery and on the menu in the tearoom is produced by ourselves on the farm. Meat such as the sausages, bacon and black pudding found on the menu are sourced locally and can also be purchased in the butchery. The beef is reared on our farm in the fields surrounding the village of Brightwalton and the lamb is grazed on the side of the Downs at our farm in Hendred. We believe that traditional farming practices with a modern approach produce great tasting meat. Conservation and environmental integrity are the backbone of our farms, our stock is extensively grass fed, supplemented by home grown winter feed. Animal welfare is a day to day priority; well-handled, calm animals produce tender tasty meat. The breeds of our sheep and cattle have been chosen for quality of meat and also our climate and landscape; slowly grown to mature to the best taste. Our beef is hung on the bone for a minimum of 21 days for a mature taste and tender meat. With both the beef and the lamb we control the entire process from conception through to butchering therefore the quality of the finished product can be maintained with full traceability. SADDLEBACK FARM SHOP the quality and integrity of the finished product. The tearoom is an opportunity to taste both the meat that we produce ourselves as well as many homemade products made in the kitchen from ingredients sourced locally such as homemade pate, soup and chutney. Our cakes, scones and tray bakes are all homemade, made using flour from the Wessex Mill in Wantage. The bread we use on the menu and sell in the shop is from a bakery in Wantage. The milk sold in the shop and used in the tea room is sourced from a dairy near Marlborough. Many other ingredients such as crisps, jam and marmalade that we use in the tearoom as well as sell in the shop are sourced locally from suppliers who hold similar values to ourselves. The venison on the menu is always wild and sourced again from our own farm to ensure BREAKFAST MENU WEEKDAYS + SATURDAY: SERVED FROM 8:30AM UNTIL 12PM • SUNDAY: SERVED FROM 10AM UNTIL 12PM Full English Breakfast £9 Two rashers of Dry Cure Bacon, Three Traditional Chipolotas Sausages, a Free Range Fried Egg, Black & White Pudding, Mushrooms, Tomato and a slice of Toast Eggs Royale £9 smoked salmon with a free range poached egg and hollandaise sauce Served on a toasted baked muffin Bacon Roll £6 Dry cure bacon in a soft roll Add a fresh free range egg for £1 Eggs Florentine £8 wilted spinach with a free range poached egg and hollandaise sauce Served on a toasted baked muffin Hot Sausage Bap £6 Three Traditional Chipolotas Sausages in a soft roll Additions: £2 per item Two Chipolatas, Two Bacon rashers, Black or White Pudding Additions: £1 per item Beans, Mushrooms, Egg or a slice of Toast Scrambled Eggs on Toast £6 Fresh eggs served on locally crafted bread Add dry cure bacon for £2 Vegetarian & Gluten Free Full English Breakfast £8 Two Vegetarian and Gluten Free Sausages, a Free Range Fried Egg, Mushrooms, Tomato and a slice of Toast Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs on Toast £8 Fresh eggs served on locally crafted bread with Scottish smoked salmon Additions: £2 per item One Vegetarian and Gluten Free Sausage Eggs Benedict £8 Roasted Ham with a Free Range Poached Egg and Hollandaise Sauce Served on a toasted baked muffin Additions: £1 per item Beans, Mushrooms, Egg or a slice of Toast Homemade Granola with a Homemade Fruit Compote £6 A honey and nut granola baked to our own recipe.
