Many of these products will only remove or cover rust. In an effort to help
educate customers, we would like to list the many values of Shield Metal
Cleaner. It’s more than a rust remover. It inhibits further rusting.

SMC will remove tarnish rust
and corrosion from fine metals. It
should not be washed off objects
to be painted, to insure an
adequate film base. It should be
washed from fine metals such as
brass, bronze, copper or porcelain
surfaces which will etch with prolonged
exposure.
SMC penetrates into hard
to get places, covers
approximately 1000 sq.
ft. to the gallon, & may be
applied with spray,
sponge, cloth, painted or
brush. This incredible
product removes light
stains immediately &
heavier rust in 30 min or
less. It is important to
give the chemicals time
to do the work. (Heavy
scale or old chipped paint
may be removed by
sandblasting, scraping,
wire, brushing or sanding.)
SMC eliminates the need for
sandblasting, scraping, wire
brushing or sanding for many
applications. After complete
physical removal we recommend a few hours for slight
rust film to appear before
applying this product. (SMC
works best on an oxidized
or rusted surface.)

expectancy of painted
objects 3-5 times
providing care is taken to
insure a good & complete
cure before painting a
