The event is open to the entire Bucks County community and will feature free food and beverages, special discounts to local businesses, and Inspire FCU giveaways. Inspire FCU‟s previous blood drive resulted in enough blood to save the lives of over 200 people. All the donors were either members of Inspire FCU or residents of the Bucks County community. “Inspire has always been dedicated to supporting the Bucks County community,” said Inspire FCU‟s President/CEO Jim Merrill. “When you give blood you are literally providing a life-saving service to the community. There‟s nothing more important than that.” More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the United States and Canada. According to the National Blood Collection and Utilization Survey Report, about 37 out of every 100 Americans are eligible to donate blood – but only 3 to 4 people actually donate each year. All eligible donors are welcome to contribute at the Bleed Purple Blood Drive. Walk-ins are welcome, but advance registration is preferred to avoid long wait times. All potential donors must bring a driver‟s license and/or a donor card. According to Inspire FCU, all potential and eligible donors will receive a coupon for a free pound of coffee from Dunkin‟ Donuts. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the blood drive, contact Kyrus Keenan Westcott, Inspire FCU‟s Community Involvement Manager, via email at [email protected], or via phone at 267-548-7008. Inspire Federal Credit Union is a $105 million progressive financial institution that has been serving the financial needs of Bucks County residents since 1936.
