The Penticton and District Garden Club Presents The Festival of Flowers Flower Show Saturday, June 18, 2016 Penticton Seniors’ Drop-In Centre 2965 South Main Street, Penticton, BC There is no fee to exhibit. Garden Club members and the general public are encouraged to enter. Unless specified, all plant material must be grown by the exhibitor. Exhibitors are allowed only one entry for each number in all classes. Exhibitors must bring their own containers, except for single roses in Rose Classes. First, second and third place ribbons may be awarded in each class. Rosette Award for Best in Show will be presented at the Flower Show. Rosettes will also be given for Most Points Overall, People’s Choice and in each Class and these will be presented at the Garden Club Summer Social, Thursday, July 21, 2016. All entries must be in between 9:00 am and 10:30 am, Saturday June 18th, at the Penticton Senior's Drop-in Centre. Judging commences at 11:00 am and the decision of the judges is final. Judging is done in accordance with the BC Council of Garden Clubs’ Judging Standards. Entries must be picked up the same day between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. You may delegate, in writing, someone to pick up for you. Unclaimed entries will be given away. Please check off all entry numbers you are exhibiting in on the form listing all of the classes and be sure to fill in your name and phone number at the top of the form. Definitions for Floral Arts: Exhibit—made of plant material, with or without accessories. Plant material must predominate over all other components. No artificial plant material is allowed. Painted and/or artificially coloured plant material may be used, unless otherwise stated in the regulations. Plant material should be in water or water-retaining substance unless plant material remains turgid throughout the event. Accessory—Any item other than fresh cut plant material which accents, interprets or adds feeling to the theme (e.g., ribbons, figurines, stone, etc.) An accessory should blend in colour, size, texture and line with the overall exhibit.
