FEATURED SPEAKER
Tadzhidin
When the Syrian civil war reached his hometown in 2013, Tadzhidin
fled with his pregnant wife and their four young children. Tadz will
share the story of their dangerous journey from Syria, finding refuge
in Turkey, and their joy at being selected for resettlement in Chicago.
Learn how the worst refugee crisis in recent history has affected one
refugee family – and how Chicago, RefugeeOne, and a caring
co-sponsor family have helped them rebuild their lives and given
them hope for the future.
HONOREE
The Eli’s Cheesecake Company / Marc Schulman
RefugeeOne is honored to recognize Marc Schulman and The Eli's Cheesecake

making the world a little sweeter, not just through the amazing products they
produce but through their incredible commitment to helping refugees.

McDonnell covers global
affairs with in-depth
conversations on
international issues.
Since 1982, RefugeeOne has welcomed more than 16,000
refugees from every major world crisis, including Cambodians
who escaped the infamous killing fields, people fleeing
genocide in Rwanda, Bosnians fleeing ethnic cleansing, Jews
from the former Soviet Union, religious and ethnic minorities
from Iraq, Iranians fleeing the Islamic Revolution, and the Lost
Boys of Sudan.
Today, during the world’s worst refugee crisis in recent history,
RefugeeOne is proud to continue building welcoming communities for Syrian refugees and others fleeing war, terror, and
persecution in Burma, the Congo, Iraq, and elsewhere.
Thanks to donors like you, we will welcome these brave
refugees and help them integrate into American society –
greeting them at the airport, providing a furnished apartment,
supporting their children in school, helping them learn English
and connecting them to their first jobs.
With your support, 600 refugees will begin their journey to
self-reliance this year.
