Exceptional healthcare, personally delivered
Special Women who wish to help others
Special women are often ordinary women who hear of another’s
desire to have a baby and feel they could help. Women from all works
of life become donors, some donate several times. They fell that the
whole process is very rewarding, knowing they have helped someone
achieve their dream.
Why some women need donated eggs
There are 3 main reasons. Some women go through the menopause
at a very young age which means they have no eggs to conceive their
own child. Others may have received treatment for cancer and this
has rendered them infertile. Thirdly, as women approach their 40’s
egg quality deteriorates which means that after several attempts at
IVF, they find that the embryos they produce are not able to achieve a
pregnancy.
How you can help
By donating an egg you can help these women restore their chances
of conceiving a baby. Success is not necessarily a pregnancy; it can
simply be the chance to try.
Becoming a donor, the next step
Although you have considered donating your eggs, you now need
more information. How does it happen, what are your responsibilities,
what does it mean for the future, how does it affect you.
We invite you to come to the Centre to meet us and we can answer
these questions.
At the appointment you can discuss with the nursing team about
what you will need to do and then you can discuss with the counsellor
the implications of donating. You are not obliged to donate.

About BCRM
We are a well established team with over 20 years of experience,
based in a new purpose built unit which opened in 2008. We have
always recruited altruistic donors and have continued to have good
success rates.
We currently have an active recruitment campaign but there is still a
year wait for treatment with donor eggs, so all donors are cherished.
You will have a named doctor and nurse who will see you through any
donation cycles you undertake, giving you individualised continuity of
care.
Donor Support
We offer follow up appointments after each donation to review your
health. A member of the nursing team will be available at the end of
the phone. Support from the counsellor will always be available in the
future. The National Gamete Donation Trust (NGDT) also offer support
to donors.
