Many families in downtown LA struggle to put enough food on the table for
themselves and their children; our Pantry Service offers free, fresh produce
and groceries weekly to these families. Three years ago, Pantry Service guests
captured the true spirit of Christmas and expressed their desire to help raise
funds for the programs on which they so deeply rely. In response, SFC held
its first-annual tamale cook-off, where participants competed to become
the TOP TAMALE. The winning dishes were chosen and distributed by the
dozen during the holidays. Guests donated countless hours of their time during the holidays to help prepare these delicious tamales. This year,
TOP TAMALE is back and tastier than ever!
Our Impact
