BIOS FOR CANDIDATES FOR DLYC BOARD OF GOVERNORS JAMES HOWELL I would like to introduce myself to some members that may not know my background. Victoria (my wife) and I have been members of Devils Lake Yacht Club for seven years, along with our three children (Amanda, Alyssa, and Logan). We have enjoyed our time at the yacht club very much, and I am looking for an opportunity to become more involved. I have been the president of Logan Creek Construction for the past thirteen years building commercial Warehouses around the United States. I would like the opportunity to recruit new members to the club. With a growing membership, we will be able to improve the club facilities such as: repainting the dining room, updating the bar area with new counter tops and ceilings, and extending a new wrap-around patio to increase the seating. Thank you for taking the time to read this. James Howell. HELEN ROGGE I became involved in the DLYC Auxiliary in 1995. Since that time, I have served as its president for four non-consecutive terms, each term representing the auxiliary on the Board of Directors. I chaired both Housewalks for Charity, championed spousal membership and strove to make the Ship’s Store reach its financial capabilities. I truly believe in fiscal responsibility. In addition to being involved in the many activities of the club, I am a member of the Constitution and By-Laws Revision committee. My husband, Bill, was Commodore in 2007. Three of our four children are club members; two are active in the Lightning fleet. Our granddaughters can be seen playing volleyball on the beach. TIM MILLER Tim Miller is currently the Business Manager/Partner at the Iott Insurance Agency headquartered in Blissfield, Mi.. My wife Liz, daughter Katie and son Thomas enjoy all that the Yacht Club has to offer. My wish is to see the Yacht Club continue to flourish and serve future generations for years to come. Our family owns and operates Devils Lake Water Sports and has been part of the lake community for the past 28 years. I feel my understanding of the people and the area could be of some benefit to the board. Thanks for your consideration for me to this position." KENNETH A SEE, JR. I decided that after 20 great years of camaraderie and fun, it was time to give back to the club and seek election to the board. After retirement in late 2007, I now have the time to contribute energy to community projects. The club is a wonderful asset for the area and I would be proud to represent it as a board member. We have a little yellow cottage on Wildwater Beach opposite Devil’s Hole and our time at the lake and the club has been a mini-vacation for us. After spending 8 years in the US Navy flying military airplanes, I enjoyed a 35-year career in corporate aviation, both as a pilot and flight department manager.
