Film in the Redlands! - Redland City Council

Film in the Redlands!
A dynamic location in south-east Queensland, Redland City
offers unique opportunities for filmmaking.
This diverse City of village, island and hinterland communities is renowned for its natural beauty, tranquillity
and accessibility to the expanse of Moreton Bay.
Few locations within Australia – and internationally – can provide the same calibre of idyllic island settings,
breathtaking beaches, rugged wild country and a relaxed atmosphere all within one City boundary. What’s more,
the Redlands is located just 30 minutes from Brisbane, Australia’s third largest capital city and 40 minutes from the
Gold Coast.
The diversity of locations offered in the Redlands meets a wide range of filming requirements and its positioning
makes it ideal as a production base.
The Redlands has a track record of being a film-friendly City, with local government policies in
place to promote rather than hinder film production. Redland City Council employees are always
on stand-by to assist agencies with film permit applications and requests to access local facilities
such as parks and foreshores.
Redland City has hosted several major international and local productions and can cater to any
production scale required, with the added economic benefits of being on the fringe of a capital
city and a busy tourist destination.
