Memo To: Member Body Key Contacts Audience: Member Body Boards, State Associations, Clubs and Officials From: Belinda Eeles, Operations Manager Date: 16th April 2014 Re: Hosting an Australian Cup Event in 2015 Shooting Australia (SA) is seeking expressions of interest from clubs or associations to conduct rounds of the Australia Cup in 2015. These competitions are critical events on the SA calendar and important competitions for the athletes. The Australia Cup is an open class competition in that there are no grades or junior events. The series also provides the opportunity for range officials to develop their skills at a high level competition open to International Competitors. The format, originally established to utilise the 2000 Olympic Legacy range in Sydney and provide an opportunity for all to compete shoulder to shoulder, unfortunately tended to restrict opportunities for those living outside of NSW due to the cost of travel. A decision was taken to open the series up by hosting events during the year ensuring that those competitors based outside of Sydney were neither disadvantaged financially nor faced with having to compete against a home ground advantage whilst pursuing qualifying scores. SA is now looking for interested clubs and associations that would be willing to host an Australia Cup for 2015 and an idea of the month they could run it. SA is looking to finalise our 2015 calendar, and publish it on our website as early as possible. Therefore I need your expression of interest returned to SA by 30th May 2014.
