Check in and free at leisure or explore the local life. Overnight at hotel in Saigon Meals included: None. Day 2: Saigon – City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnel (B, L) This morning enjoy a city tour including Re-unification, Notre Dame Cathedral, City Hall, Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market. In the afternoon, travel 70km northwest of Saigon to the town of Cu Chi and explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, one of the most famous battlegrounds of the Vietnam War. The secret tunnel system is 200 km long deep inside the earth, and was used for hiding in during combat, also serving as communication and supply routes during the Vietnam War. In the evening, enjoy dinner on cruise. Overnight at hotel in Saigon Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 3: Saigon – Mekong Delta – Can Tho (B, L) Today we travel to the Mekong River Delta on a day trip to explore the rich culture and lush fluvial landscape. Our driver and guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to Cai Be. Start your tour with a visit to Cai Be’s colorful floating market, cruising among the local barges stuffed-full of fruits and vegetables. Visit some local workshops then enjoy a delicious lunch,including the popular dish of “Elephant ear fish”, before continuing our exploration of the tributaries and canals of the delta. In the afternoon, take a traditional rowboat and venture deeper into the countryside, floating through narrow canals to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Stop at a nursery garden to discover how farmers along the delta produce their world famous fruits and vegetables. You cross the islands on Mekong River on oar boats and experience the real countryside along the Mekong. Your driver will be waiting for you on the other side of the river to drive across the Mekong Delta all the way to CanTho – the capital of Mekong Delta. In the evening, take the short walk to the night market by your own way. Overnight at hotel in Can Tho. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 4: Can Tho – Chau Doc (B, L) Start from Ninh Kieu boat quay, where we cruise along the small and picturesque cannels and stop to see the Cai Rang floating market (the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats). We stop to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the daily activities of the locals who lives along the Mekong canals. Walking through the village to visit a rice husking mill and a rice/noodle shop, where we observe how it is made. Continue to Chau Doc where a sunset journey up Sam Mountain provides sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. You also visit Lady Xu and Thoai Ngoc Hau Temple if time permits. Overnight at hotel in Chau Doc. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch. Day 5: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh by speedboat (B) After breakfast, check-out the hotel then travel by speedboat up the Mekong to Cambodia’s capital: Phnom Penh. The total trip takes about four and a half hours (including visa formalities). Visas are easily obtained at the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. Once arrival, the guide and driver will meet you at the dock in Phnom Penh and take you to the hotel. Check in and free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh Meals included: Breakfast. Day 6: Phnom Penh City Tour (B, L) Spend the day on a tour of Cambodia’s vibrant capital city. Start by learning about the Khmer Rouge and Cambodia’s recent, bloody history on a guided tour of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the notorious Choeung Ek “Killing Fields”. Enjoy lunch at a downtown restaurant, and then conclude the day with a cyclo ride down Sihanouk Boulevard to visit the National Museum and the Royal Palace – home to the royal family and the opulent Silver Pagoda. Day 7: Phnom Penh – Fly to Siem Reap (B) After breakfast, fly to Siem Reap, the primary access point for the Angkor Archaeological Park. Pick up and transfer to hotel. Check in and free at leisure. Day 8: Siem Reap Tour (B, L, D) In the morning, we will awake up early about 05:00am by TukTuk for Sunrise at Angkor Wat Temple, the most wonderful remains of a disappeared civilization which between the 8th and 13th century, built the splendid Temple of Angkor, partially annihilated afterwards by invasion and hidden for centuries by forest. Angkor is the big attraction not just for Cambodia but for all over the world. This temple, dedicated to Vishnu, was constructed at the beginning of the twelfth century. It is remarkable for its powerful architecture and for the richness of its sculptures. Then visit the jungle-entwined temple, Ta Prohm. Dawn is one of the most beautiful and haunting times to visit the temples, whose ancient sandstone blocks are gilded gold by the early morning rays. Return to the hotel for breakfast then free at leisure. Afternoon time we will catch up our discovery to Angkor Thom (the Great City) including the Southern Gate, Bayon temple, Baphuon temple, Terrace of Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King &Phimean Akas: “Celestial Palace”, dedicated to Hinduism, enjoy the romantic sunset at Pre Rup temple. Back to the town and enjoy a well-earned hour foot massage. In the evening, enjoy dinner at restaurant with Apsara Dance Show. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Day 9: Siem Reap Departure (B) After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure flight back home.
