Getting Started
• DynaPlan is a measurement definition program. It helps you establish the right
position of Blum’s drawer systems and concealed hinges in cabinets as well as
the cutting dimensions of the drawer bottom, front and back panels quickly and
efficiently. DynaPlan is not, however, a substitute for Blum’s catalog. We recommend our specification documents for the design and assembly of inner drawers,
pullouts, and cross rail locations.
• In general, three different designing systems are provided:
PRO Priority is on identical drawer front heights with the same
drilling positions for front fixing brackets
FREE Cabinet space utilization is prioritized and drilling is the same
for all drawer fronts except the bottom
FREE32 Priority is based on the 32mm system with best possible
utilization of storage space
• DynaPlan works with the following Blum drawer systems:

Installing DynaPlan on Windows based PC’s
• Windows 3.1 Insert DynaPlan disk in floppy drive. Go to program manager. In
the file menu select run. Type a:setup in the command line field and click OK.
Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
• Windows 95 Insert DynaPlan disk in floppy drive. Choose run from the start
menu. If it is not already there, type a:setup & click OK. Follow the prompts to
complete the installation.
On-line Help
• At the bottom of the screen the “on-line help” window can assist you throughout
the operation. By moving the mouse to the relevant fields you will be given more
detailed information on individual functions, menus and displays.
Software Registration
• Please take a moment to fill out and return the software registration card. This
way we can inform you of upgrades or more information about the program

Entering cutting dimensions
• In the Dimensions section, enter the cabinet dimensions and drawer front
reveals. Use tab key to switch to next field.
All dimensions must be in millimeters
• In the System section, choose the desired runner system from the pull-down
menu. In this example, METABOX 320/330 is chosen.
• If a Sealing profile is used on METABOX drawers select yes, otherwise leave
this selection at the default no.
• Click OK

Entering Drawer Fronts
• Select Add drawers individually from the Drawers/Doors pull-down menu.
• In this example, 240 was entered in the Drawer front height field and 320H as
the Drawer type.
In the Drawer type field, only drawer heights that will fit
behind the Drawer front will be displayed

Balance number for the top drawer.
• If a drawer front is incorrect you can pull up the Amend/Delete window by
clicking on the front.

Add remaining drawers automatically
• Choose Add drawers automatically from the Drawer/doors pull-down menu.
• Enter the Number of drawers and the Drawer type from the pull down menus.
These drawer fronts will be calculated equally for the balance of space left and
the front fixing bracket locations will be identical.
The Drawer type menu will only offer drawer heights
that will fit based on the Number of drawers chosen

Working with DynaPlan Free32
• When Free32 planning is used, a First drilling value is added to the Cabinet
dimensions section. This is the distance from the bottom of the side panel to the
center of the first lineboring hole . It is calculated from the panel thickness and
the drawer system chosen.
• Free32 allows you to only pick from drawer height dimensions that are a multiple
of 32 less the center gap. The bottom drawer is automatically calculated as an
increment of 32, less the center gap, plus the bottom overlay.
• Drawers can be added individually or automatically. In automatic mode the
drawer fronts will be the same height with the exception of the bottom drawer
which includes the bottom overlay.
• The Cabinet Drilling position number relates to a hole that will be located at
this distance from the bottom of the side panel.

Adjusting the top drawer height
• When adding drawers automatically in Free32, it is most likely that there will be a
balance left over because the fronts are forced into a 32mm increment.
• To make the top drawer reach the top reveal position, click on the top drawer
front and choose Match with cabinet height. The top drawer height will automatically adjust and the Balance will change to zero.
Starting over with New planning
• If the layout is not what you want you can start over, without affecting the
Cabinet dimensions, by selecting New planning from the File pull down menu.

Working with DynaPlan Pro
• Pro planning is ideal when you want to make multiple drawer stacks that have
identical drawer front heights with identical front boring.
• Whether selecting Add drawers individually or Add drawers automatically, if
the same drawer box height is selected, all front fixing positions will be the same.
• Pro calculates the bottom drawer front fixing position and applies it to all the
upper drawer fronts.

Adding doors to your planning
• In either planning version you can add doors to the layout from the Drawers/
Door menu. In Free and Pro select any height. In Free32 the heights are
predetermined in 32 increments.
• Select the hinge positions, Below the top of the door and Above the bottom of
the door.
• Based on the Number of hinges you choose, the Max. door weight will automatically be calculated.
• In the Type field you can add a comment that will be printed on the detail sheet.

Saving your planning
• At any stage of data entry, whether a cabinet design is complete or just the
cabinet dimensions are entered, you can save your planning to disk.
• Choose Save from the File pull-down menu. Up to 8 characters can be entered
in the Filename field and 40 characters in the Comment field.

Printing a detail sheet
• From the File pull-down menu, choose Print. A Windows Notepad screen will
open showing the information you provided and DynaPlan’s calculations.
• To make a hard copy printout, choose File/Print again.
You can change the title of the page (dynaplan.out) to
include your job description etc. by highlighting and
reentering the text.
