Welcome to Dallmann East River Dairy LLC
about 30 full-time employees and 4500 animals with cows, heifers,
and calves.
Originally, the cows were milked in a stanchion barn by pipeline
until 1989. At that time, the farm was one of the larger operations in
the area, and cows were being switched out three times. In 1989, a
herringbone parlor was added. Cow numbers continued to increase
over the years. In 2006, the decision was made to construct a new
parlor to replace the outdated herringbone parlor and keep up with
more rapid expansion and increased animal numbers.

Welcome to Dallmann East River Dairy, LLC! The family farm was purchased in 1964 with 15 cows and 80
acres by Terrell and Darlene Dallmann. Since then, the
farm has grown slowly over the years and has involved
three generations of the family.
Terrell and Darlene’s son, Daniel, slowly took over
the everyday operations of the farm. With the help
and commitment of his wife Shirley, they continued
to expand. Dan and Shirley’s children, Nicholas and
Lindsay also showed their commitment and involvement in the farm. Both Nick and Lindsay have a degree
in Animal Science from UW-Platteville. Lindsay’s husband, Travis, helps take care of all the maintenance on
the farm, including all the equipment and machinery.
Nick’s wife, Janessa, is a 4th and 5th grade teacher at
Holy Family School in Brillion. They have two young
children, Abigail and Jackson. The farm consists of
Today, this parlor is a double 25 parallel parlor where roughly 2000
cows get milked three times a day. Land purchases and land rentals
increased also with the growing dairy. The farm currently owns about
1700 acres and rents another 850 acres. They also work with and buy
feed from another 500 acres from area farmers. Corn silage, oatlage,
and alfalfa are grown for the dairy’s forage needs.
Dallmann East River Dairy also tries to keep up with the current trends
in the dairy industry. Tunnel ventilated barns help keep cows cool on
hot summer days. A feeding management software provides a precise
diet to be fed to the animals. GPS software helps planting and field
work be more efficient and allows getting the most out of every acre.
All the manure on the farm also goes through an anaerobic digester.
The digester was installed in 2012 and is run by DVO Inc.
The manure makes biogas, which is then turned into electricity and
can power about 500 homes. Dallmann East River Dairy goes above
and beyond regulations for land management and cow comfort
practices to ensure that they are a sustainable farm, providing the best
opportunity for the family’s future generations.
We hope you enjoy your Sundae on our farm!
