Trip Lottery
You can sign up for the lottery on 1/2 & 1/3 and
1/16 & 1/17 from 8am to 6pm. Results from the
lottery will be posted by 11am the morning after
each trip lottery closes. For a list of our more

Theater Desk
Theater desk will take place on 1/12 & 1/26

Taikoza Group: Experience the thunderous
rhythms of the ancestral Japanese Taiko drums
and the magical sounds of the bamboo flutes.
This exciting group draws from Japan’s rich
tradition of music and performance to create
a highly visual performance. With colorful
traditional costumes and dynamic motion,
Taikoza’s shows are immensely popular with
audiences of all ages.

Join professor Carol Walters as she brings to life the
Poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay in the context
of her personal history as well as the history of
the times. Millay’s life spanned the years 1892
to 1950 and exposed her to significant historical
events, new social conventions and technological
advances. Poems will be read aloud and analyzed
in class in conjunction with discussion of the
poet’s life experiences as they affected her poetry.

Expressionist Painting Class: Members will
examine different artists from the Expressionist
movement while learning similar methods
and techniques. Members will also have the
opportunity to develop their own acrylic paintings.

20th Century Art Appreciation Class: Members
will explore some of the most poignant movements
and artists who contributed to Modern Art by
engaging in lectures, discussions, and hands-on art

using pencil, charcoal, and conte crayon and work
on different still life drawings and figures on paper.

The Center’s new Musical Theater Class is led
by drama teacher Patrick Robinson and music
teacher Jessica Leylavergne. Members will
explore songs and scenes from classic musicals,

Keeping Calm: Support Group for Anxiety,
Sundays, 12:45-1:30, CARE: Do you struggle
with worry or anxiety? Join Laura DiPaola, Assistant Director, Social Services in a supportive
group discussion. We will explore creative coping mechanisms for anxiety and we will begin
and end our sessions with a meditation.
Beating the Holiday Blues, Saturdays, 10:0011:00, CARE: Holidays throughout the year
can be stressful, and even more so in the winter
months. In this support group, we discuss the
challenges of the holidays, while obtaining
tools and techniques to beat the holiday blues.
