Director Walt Jenkins, of Anna Maria, said he is planning a premier party in December for his new film,
"Vampire Biker Babes."
"We finished shooting the last major scene on Oct.23
and we have a few pickup shots left," Jenkins said last
week. "I had hoped to have it out by Halloween, but we
got delayed by the rains in August and September, which
put us two months behind. It will be done by Christmas."
Premier parties are planned for theaters in
Bradenton and Tampa for the movie, which features
vampire bikers on motorcycles who invade a town and
seek revenge for the sins of the sheriff’s son and his
friends.
The final scene in which the sheriff confronts the
vampire Vlad was filmed at Riverside Plaza in Palmetto,
and other scenes were filmed locally including at the
Bradenton Beach Police Station. Jail and bar scenes
were filmed in Jenkins’ new 10,000-square-foot studio in
Palmetto, which features a green screen shooting stage
and will soon have offices and an editing suite.
"It’s been a really good shoot, one of the best of my
life," he said. "Everybody has been positive to work
with."
Jenkins and his cast of "biker babes" recently set Ft.
Myers on its ear when they attended the Big Boys Tek
and Toy Show in September.
"The invited us to bring the biker babes to sign autographs," he explained. "We were met by a huge crowd
when they announced our arrival and we were interviewed by TV news media including the Spanish language channel."
This past weekend they attended Something Wicked
This Way Con, a horror fan convention in Tampa, and
Jenkins plans to take the biker babes on promo tours.

Soloman’s Castle, 40 miles outside of Bradenton,
was used as the home of Vlad, a 400-year-old vampire, and his daughter, Vanna, the leader of a female
vampire biker gang.
"We’re making a store on my Web site, Cyberstreme,"
Jenkins said, "which should be open by the end of the
month. People can get posters, DVDs, movie clips for
their cell phones, iPod clips, T-shirts and Vampire label
beer and wine."
Jenkins is also seeking local actors to audition for 10
more movies that he has planned. Genres include science fiction, action/adventure, comedy, horror and animation.
"I want all types of people," he said. "I’m concentrating on local talent, and I want to develop a repertory
company of actors to use in my movies.
"I will help build their careers. I have already found
six or seven local actors that are as good as anybody coming out of Hollywood."
Two action/adventure movies he has planned are
"Finders Keepers" and its sequel, "Losers Weepers,"
about two ex Navy Seals who own a bar on the Island
and are looking for buried treasure on Egmont Key.
Jenkins said aspiring actors should send photos and
resumes
