“Youre in Treble” Best in New
Zealand
The first school day of 2016 – Monday 1st February
Computers, Ipads and other technology…
We have just rolled out another 50 ‘devices’ into the classrooms soon we
will offer students the opportunity to bring their own devices into school
for learning, but we have taken a lot to time and trouble to make sure that
we have enough in school to ensure that no one misses out if they do not
have their own to learning on.
I am still smiling about our school band taking out the National
Bandquest in first place…. I can’t wait to see our tamariki on stage again
in November.

On one fantastic and amazing weekend
I had my prize giving for rugby.
When our team got called out my
fabulous team all got certificates.
Once we got our amazing certificates it
was time for the prizes.
The amazing Luca got the
sportsmanship award.
Logan got the most improved award
and finally the excellent Blake got the
player of the year.
After all the teams got called, we got a
tasty sausage sizzle and a tasty drink - it
was DELICIOUS!
On Sunday we went to laser tag. The
first round my team was red and we
won again and again and soon we were
champions.
That was my great weekend.
Thank You …
FRANK Stationery for donating books to our school. All students are using
the Frank books as learning logs. Each day, students reflect on their learning
and use the Frank books to record their thoughts. We appreciate your kindness
and all the lovely things you said about us. Check out the interview below.
An interview with Jason from FRANK Stationery:
Who do you work for?
I am lucky enough to work full time at FRANK.
How long have you been there?
I have been running FRANK for 2 years.
What is your favourite ice-cream flavour?
Favourite ice-cream would have to be Tip-top Jelly tip!
What did you donate to our school?
FRANK donated 1000 exercise books for kids to use in class.
Why did you choose our school?
The schools that we have donated to (including yours) were recommended to us as schools that
would really appreciate some extra books to help kids in class with their learning. You are such
a nice school and we are so stoked to be able to provide you with some extra books.
Which league team do you support?
The Warriors.
How did your presentation to our school go?
It was so great! You are such nice and friendly people who welcomed me so warmly! It is a
privilege for My wife and I to give back books to your school through FRANK! We gave books to
9 other schools around Auckland which was really fun. I really like meeting new people and
getting to know more and more people in the community!
What would you like students at our school to know about their education?
I really like the Dr Seuss quote that we put on the back of our books "The more that you read,
the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you'll go" I like this
quote because education and learning gives us opportunities to follow the passions that we
have in life. If you are really passionate about a certain topic, and you learn as much as you can
about it, then you might just be able to do that for a job. Thats quite exciting to me! I love that we
are getting educated all the time, and not only at school, also through the people that we meet
and the experiences that we have! There's opportunities to learn and grow everywhere we go!
Thanks for having me.

Money
Money is something that you spend. It
gets almost everything in the house and
outdoors, like power, landline, food, water,
school fees and jobs. Money is the only
thing you need to get everything you want
because nearly everything costs money.
But there’s a place called a bank. A bank
is a place where you save money easier.
Here are the types of banks you can
choose from: ASB, ANZ, BNZ, the Post
Shop, Kiwi Bank and Westpac. If you
have a bank-card, you can put it in a bank
machine that sticks on the wall and get
your money. There are a thousand banks
in the world. Money is coins and pieces of
paper that are used when people buy or
sell things. To me, money, church, play
and going places is my life. Money is
important because you won’t have any
water or food - you won’t survive.
Sometimes money can be evil because it
won’t give you the right things.
Kids Corner
Colour me.
And now some riddles:
Q. What five-letter word becomes
shorter when you add two letters
to it?
A. Short
Q. What type of cheese is made
backwards?
A. Edam
Q. How can a man go eight days
without sleep?
A. He sleeps during the night.
