Lesson 75 Exponential Functions
Exponential function – a function of the form y = abx, where a ≠ 0, b > 0, and b ≠ 1
Examples: y = 2(3)x
y = 4x
Example 1
Graph y = 4x. Find the yintercept and state the domain and range.
In y = abx, if a > 0 and b > 1, it is called an exponential growth function.
In y = abx, if a > 0 and 0 < b < 1, it is called an exponential decay function.
Example 2
Graph . Find the yintercept and state the domain and range.
