CAN SLOGAN CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES JANUARY 11 – APRIL 8 , 2016 SLOGAN RULES • All trashcan slogans should contain a litter prevention message and may promote a sense of school spirit. • Your slogan will be placed on the top blue band and the middle white band of the classic Don’t mess with Texas trashcan, as shown here. • Slogans may be in English or Spanish. • Slogans should be text-based, but may also include basic line art, symbols, and emoticons. No pictures or hand drawings are allowed. • Entries should have all words spelled correctly, unless using a symbol or emoticon to replace a word or using a wellknown acronym. A misspelling may be allowed in the case that it is obviously purposeful. • Last year’s winning slogans are not eligible. • Slogans may not include any profanity or obscene, lewd, defamatory or inappropriate images or text, including nudity, acts of violence or acts that appear to cause harm. • Other than the school name, Don’t mess with Texas or Keep Texas Beautiful names, entries are not permitted to use any brand logo, trademarked slogan, character, product, company, or store name (e.g., McDonald’s, Coke, 7-Eleven, etc.). ENTER YOUR SLOGAN BELOW: Make sure your slogan is no more than 30 characters. • Other material deemed inappropriate by TxDOT at its sole discretion may be disqualified. • Each entrant agrees not to submit any entry that infringes upon any third party proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, industrial property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or confidentiality obligations, or otherwise violates applicable U.S. law. I agree that KTB / TxDOT / SMAM and any successors, licensees and assignees thereto shall have the non-exclusive and perpetual right, but not the obligation, to use my child’s name, photograph, voice, likeness, and similar characteristics of his / her identity for advertising, publicity, promoting, selling, and other related purposes in connection with KTB / TxDOT / SMAM both during and after the Contest. I agree to cooperate with KTB / TxDOT / SMAM by providing appropriate photographs and biographical information, if and as reasonably requested.
