Two indentures concerning William Rede’s gift of books to the
Library:
Sunday after St Luke 1374, Rede’s indenture of gift.
1400, indenture between Exeter College & John Bampton
et al., exors of the will of William Rede, Bp of Chichester,
concerning the conditions governing the use of books left
to the College & including a list of the books. Indenture
appears to be that mentioned in Boase, p. 9 & transcribed
in Bodley ms Wood D.2, p. 74, 106. (Ultraviolet
negatives in strongroom).
