Taco Bell Stick / Line Share Installation Project Scope of work: The purpose of this project is to reduce the number of phone lines in Taco Bell restaurants. This will be accomplished by installing a stick/line sharing device in the manager’s office area. The phone line with broadband service will serve several devices as well as the business line for the restaurant. It will serve the alarm system, fax machine, DSL and the TACO system access modem. All of these devices will need to be tested with CTA’s Help Desk before the technician can complete the service order. List of procedures: Upon arrival the technician must take inventory of what is working or NOT working and report it to the CTA Help Desk. If there are any issues with technology devices in the unit; including POS terminals, phones, fax, alarm system, DVR, etc., report to CTA HD. CTA HD will report issue to TBHD and open a Remedy case. All restaurants have had a wiring clean-up project performed. If site appears to have voice or data cabling that is not dressed up and secure, report issues to CTA upon arrival. Technician must take before and after install pictures. This is to protect the technician and CTA from accusations that wiring was left unsecured and the previous wiring clean-up project was disrupted by CTA’s Stick installation. The technician must locate all of the devices that will be connected to the Stick line (DSL filter, Burglar alarm panel, Fax machine, and “TACO” system access modem). Locate the manager’s desk area and check for existing voice wire runs. Reuse the existing voice wire run to the area. Mount the Stick line share device in an appropriate location in the manager’s area. Stick must be mounted to the wall with the bracket provided and with the RJ-11 ports facing down to eliminate foreign materials falling into the ports. (see picture) Refer to the provided wiring diagram. If broadband service is a DSL service, make sure the first device on the CO line is the DSL splitter. From the DSL telephone output this must go the RJ-31x to feed the alarm panel. The Data side will terminate to a jack labeled DSL and connect to the Cisco 877 DSL router. The Telephone side of the alarm panel RJ31x must be terminated to a jack labeled VOICE. A line cord from the VOICE jack must be connected to the port labeled LINE on the Stick. The dual jack must be labeled with the telephone number of the VOICE and DSL service. The Telephones in the store must be fed from the jack on the Stick labeled VOICE 1. The fax machine must plug into the Stick jack labeled FAX. Set the number of rings to answer on fax machine to “2”. The TACO modem will be fed from the Stick jack labeled MODEM. Each Device EXCEPT the Alarm system will need to be checked by the CTA HD technician. We must make sure that all of the devices are wired correctly behind the alarm panel and the new Stick device. The technician will need to locate the VADB modem and remove it from the Satellite gateway. And give the modem and cables to the manager on duty. Verify all cables and line cords are dressed with Velcro straps. DO NOT USE TIE WRAPS. TECHNICIANS WILL BE RE-DISPTCHED TO REPLACE TIE WRAPS WITH VELCRO IF TIE WRAPS ARE USED. The final step is for CTA HD to add the TACO HD on the line for final acceptance testing.
