OFFERED IN GREECE
The American College of Greece (ACG) is a private, independent, non-profit educational
institution founded in 1875. Throughout its history, the College has been recognized as
Greece’s premier non-profit College and it is the oldest and largest American educational
institution in Europe. It comprises three divisions:
PIERCE (secondary education), DEREE (undergraduate and graduate programs) and the
ALBA - Graduate Business School at The American College of Greece.
DEREE-The American College of Greece is accredited by the New England Association
of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). It also has a degree validation agreement with the Open University of the United Kingdom.
DEREE offers bachelor’s degrees in Business, the Liberal Arts & Sciences and the Fine & Performing Arts and master’s degrees in
Communication and Psychology. Over 3,000 students from 67 countries currently study at DEREE, while its alumni body consists of
52,000 members around the world.
In 2016-2017 ACG will offer more than €3, 5 million in scholarships and financial aid. The funds are drawn from the College’s own
sources, as well as from contributions by individuals and charitable organizations. The amount is scheduled to increase significantly
over the next few years. Moreover, international internships with leading companies around the world are made available each year to
DEREE students. DEREE has partnered with dozens of U.S. and European universities to offer study abroad programs.

The Open University (OU) was founded by Royal Charter in 1969 and since then it has
established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching by supported
open learning, for its research and for offering a university education to many students
who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to study. The Open University’s
mission is to be open to people, places, methods and ideas.
A few facts and figures about the OU:
The OU has taught more than 1.85 million people to date. Over 200,000 people
currently study with the OU, making it the largest UK academic institution by student
numbers. Support comes from a network of 25 institutions and nearly 6,400 tutors worldwide. The Open University was the highest
rated university for overall student satisfaction in the 2012 National Student Survey, and has been consistently in the top five UK
universities for student satisfaction since the survey began in 2005.
