Candidate 2:
Firstly, the critical trys to persuade people by trying to make them feel guilty. It says “No girl
deserves to be ignored.” This makes the reader feel guilty because they are trying to say you
shouldn’t just be takeing boy’s from places like this and leaving girls to be forgotten about, take
some girls and don’t “ignore” them.
Secondly, the writer is trying to persuade you to help a child in need of an “education.” “Every girl
deserves access to a desent education.” What they want you to feel, is that you should be trying to
help these children with nothing and all they would like is a right to have an “education.”
The writer then moves on to say, that people could help the girls in desperation of a new life. “You
can help put a stop to child discrimination.” This means that these children would like something to
be able to live for, not to be “discriminated.” The word “discriminated” means that its not just a
horrible thought being made about someone, it is the thought being acted upon.

Candidate 3:
The reasons given are first of all “no girl deserves to be ignored.” This means that they should
have a voice in what’s going on.
“Every girl deserves a decent education.” In this, what they are saying is that they deserve an
education to help them get out of poverty and open doors for them,
They are saying that they should have the same rights as us, and, therefore stating that there
should be equality.
You will boost their confidence and that will help them do well in life.
There is emotive language to persuade the reader – “sponsorship places children at the heart of
the fight against poverty.”
